Microsoft is planning to introduce an exciting feature to Excel, enabling users to add co-authors to password-protected Excel files. This means that shared individuals can make changes to Excel files without the need to remove the protection.

This innovative feature has recently been added to the Microsoft Roadmap and will soon be available on both the Microsoft Excel PC application and Excel online. Unfortunately, there is still no information on whether Microsoft plans to bring this support to Excel applications on Android and iOS.

Microsoft Excel will soon receive the file-sharing feature for protected spreadsheets, catering to other users.

Currently, Excel users can protect files with passwords, but sharing requires removing the protection. With the upcoming feature, you can add users without lifting the protection, making sharing sensitive information easier and more secure. According to Microsoft's roadmap, this capability is expected to launch in June 2021.
