On HomePod, the update fixes issues causing the device to restart or Siri to stop responding. On iPad Pro, iOS 12.1.3 addresses issues that could distort audio when using external input devices, fixes CarPlay issues that may disconnect from the 2019 iPhone. According to Apple's full release notes:
- Resolves issues in Messages app that may affect scrolling through images in details view.
- Fixes an issue where images may have artifacts after being sent from Share sheet.
- Addresses issues that could distort audio when using external audio input devices on iPad Pro (2018).
- Resolves an issue that may cause some CarPlay systems to disconnect from iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max.
Additionally, the release also includes bug fixes for HomePod:
- Fixes issues that may cause HomePod to restart.
- Addresses problems that may cause Siri to stop responding.
The previous iOS 12.1.2 update included bug fixes for eSIM activation issues and adjustments to some iPhone functionalities in China to comply with Qualcomm's patent infringement claims, allowing Apple to bypass the ban on selling older iPhones.
