The hang gliding championship presents an opportunity to boost and integrate the development of hang gliding in Vietnam within the hang gliding endeavors of Southeast Asian and global nations.
The 2012 Vietnam Hang Gliding Championship, featuring international pilots, promises to be captivating and highly competitive. Vietnamese pilots will have the chance to showcase, compete, and learn alongside experienced international hang gliding pilots with excellent skills and techniques.
Hang gliding has been introduced to Vietnam only in the last decade. According to sports experts, hang gliding requires equipment weighing only 15 kg, enabling players to take off from mountaintops, flying at bird-like speeds without the need for engines. Hang gliding enthusiasts leverage wind power, direction, and the exhilaration of conquering heights to conquer the skies.
Currently, Vietnam boasts around 200 pilots actively training in hang gliding, fueled by their passion for the vast expanse of the sky and attracting the attention of numerous young enthusiasts. According to hang gliding experts, a skilled pilot who can harness hot air currents generated by the sun and wind can fly hundreds of kilometers.
The 2012 Vietnam Hang Gliding Championship organized by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, the Hanoi Hang Gliding Club, and the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Hoa Binh Province.
