Exciting new features are included in the iOS 17.2 beta 4 update

While Apple is preparing to wrap up the testing phase of iOS 17.2, they are still bringing some adjustments to features and adding new functionality to the latest beta 4 release that was just released not long ago. So what's new in iOS 17.4 beta 4? Let's find out in the article below.

Default Notification Sounds

In the Sounds & Haptics section, iOS 17.2 beta 4 introduces a new 'Default Alert' section that allows you to choose the sound used for all non-text notifications, mail alerts, and calendar alerts, which previously had their own customizations.

All text tones can be used for default notification sounds, and there is also an option to change the haptic vibration intensity of the default notification.

Apple Music Collaborative Playlists

Although Apple Music collaborative playlists were introduced in a previous version of iOS 17.2, Apple has removed this option in the fourth beta. This indicates that this is not one of the new features of iOS 17.2.

AppleCare Settings

The 'Insurance' section in

has been renamed to AppleCare & Warranty. It still includes ‌AppleCare‌ information for your iPhone and connected devices like and AirPods.

Record ProRes video directly on external storage devices

With compatible models, ProRes video can be recorded directly on external storage devices. And with the iOS 17.2 beta 4 update, Apple has brought a new popup notification that lets users know that this feature will not work with USB-C cables that are too slow.

iTunes

Code in iOS 17.2 confirms that Apple plans to remove the option to purchase TV shows and movies within the iTunes app. In the future, TV and movie content will have to be purchased within the TV app, but for now, this change has not actually been implemented.
