Recall that last month WhatsApp was reported to be adding a Dark Mode, hinted at within the APK file. Though it remains uncertain when Dark Mode will be available for all WhatsApp users. However, at this juncture, iOS users can get a sneak peek into the future app update, albeit the app is currently in the Alpha stage. WhatsApp for iOS is on the verge of introducing Dark Mode.
Below is an illustrative image of the Dark Mode interface on the WhatsApp app, shared by WABetaInfo. Nevertheless, since it's still in the Alpha development stage, the app interface may still undergo changes in the final release. Moreover, it's highly likely that the Dark Mode feature added to the official WhatsApp release for Android and iOS will be similar.
Dark Mode has been detected within the code of the latest app version released today, specifically WhatsApp version 2.18.100. Notably, this mode is not yet available in the latest app update. It's likely to be an option allowing users to switch to a lighter theme, albeit this remains the default theme.
As you can see in the screenshot above, the new Dark Mode utilizes a dark gray background, with brighter colors used for keys on the keyboard and text messages within the frame to enhance visibility.
In addition to introducing the new Dark Mode feature, the latest app update also includes new improvements for the user interface, better display resolution on large screen devices such as the iPhone Xs Max.
Moreover, the task menus have been redesigned, with darker background shading when long-pressed to display vertically arranged options (in contrast to the previously horizontally displayed popup menu).
The redesigned interface also allows for displaying more options in the initial popup window, with the old arrow replaced by a 3-dot icon.
Finally, the latest app update adds several other reply options, including the ability to reply with documents, voice messages, location, and vCards, with consecutive voice messages playing in sequence.
