Exciting revelations about the screen of the 2024 iPad Pro surface

Sources explain that the new matte screen option for the Pro will be offered alongside a standard glossy glass finish. It will reduce glare at viewing angles from -4° to +29° and may employ various types of blue light blockers to aid eye protection.

It's currently unclear if the matte screen option for the iPad Pro 2024 will be a 'nano-texture' glass like that on the Pro Display XDR or not. Nano-texture glass is a matte finish layer that effectively disperses light to minimize glare, ideal for use in brightly lit environments. Although matte screen coatings effectively reduce reflections, they also slightly blur the image.

Until now, nano-texture glass has only been available on desktop computer monitors. Cleaning them will be more challenging due to the surface's oil and dust-attracting texture, so Apple advises only wiping them with a soft, non-abrasive polishing cloth. Therefore, it remains unclear how the matte screen on the iPad will retain fingerprint marks.
