Speaking of my first impression after watching the movie, lead actor Sam Worthington expressed, 'I was amazed by the filmmaking technology. Jim described to me how the film would elevate the art of makeup to a whole new level. This made me worry that the new technology might not capture the nuances of an actor's performance fully.'

'But then I remembered the moment I saw myself, Sigourney, and Zoe with blue skin. And that was still us, authentic down to every pore. Everything was captured and reproduced with absolute precision by the technology. Jim kept his promise. Advanced technology doesn't diminish the performances of the artists. Audiences still feel the emotions we want to convey. And that's the essential point I observed. I felt fortunate, with a hint of astonishment, when watching the film for the first time,' he continued.
Actress Sigourney Weaver recounted, 'For me, as an audience member, the 3D technology used in the film left me awestruck. I remember watching the segment where Sam's character has to tame his Ikran, feeling as if I were about to topple into the deep chasm below because Sam was standing on a floating island. For me, that experience was truly extraordinary. 3D technology blurred the distance between me and the virtual world inside the film, giving me the feeling as if I were standing side by side with the characters on the planet Pandora,' she said.
In Avatar, Michelle Rodriguez portrays Trudy Chacón - a seasoned pilot tasked with transporting cargo and troops to Pandora. Rodriguez remarked that the entire essence of the film lies in how we quantify abstract values like love, connection to nature, or beauty.

'I realized, from the moment I witnessed Jim passionately discussing various animal species and their colors, that no barrier could prevent this man from translating beauty. Because beauty is the quantity to quantify love and connection to nature. If he could establish a connection between beauty, Pandora, and nature, he could build a connection with humanity,' she said.
When watching the film, I was left speechless for a moment. He did it. Everything Jim wrote in the script, he successfully recreated through shapes, colors, and sounds on the screen. And at that moment, I understood why Jim was meticulous with every detail,' she said.
For actor Stephen Lang, Avatar is like a novel where every detail is etched into the mind. 'I resonate with what's written in the script. It's detailed, rich, meticulously described like a novel. To me, Avatar isn't just a screenplay. It's a film often replayed in the mind, a book I've read and will never forget. It's also the film I watched on the screen. Avatar brought to life on screen the words I read, guiding me into the world the writers envisioned,' he said.
Reading the script for the first time, Sam Worthington struggled to imagine everything about Pandora. His most memorable moment from the film was the feeling of filming as if playing. As he described it, director James Cameron would often say: 'Hey, I'll set up this, pretend it's a floating mountain, and I need you to jump on it. I'll arrange a group of people rushing toward you, attacking you. Just consider them Viperwolves'.
Worthington expressed: 'To me, every day of filming was a joyful memory. I felt like a 5-year-old standing in front of a giant playground, and then the director said 'run in there.' I had to constantly reassure myself because honestly, at that moment, it was hard to believe what I was doing could turn into a film. I just thought it was a uniquely exciting experience,' he said.

Actress Sigourney Weaver recalled her first day on set. 'I remember stepping onto the set for the first time. I wore a motion capture suit. There was a screen set up on set to preview the rough draft of the character when on screen. In other words, what I saw then wasn't myself in a motion capture suit but a 7-foot tall navy blue alien version of myself wearing a tank top standing amidst vast forests,' Weaver reminisced.
Zoe Saldana shared the story of receiving a call from Jame Cameron while… changing diapers for her child. 'For me, that was the moment I received a phone call from Jim saying 'I want you to play Neytiri.' I still remember that moment vividly to this day. Excitement, gratitude. Embarrassment for being in the midst of changing diapers for my child,' she recounted.

Saldana continued: 'I had the opportunity to work with my idol - the creator of many female screen heroes like Sarah Connor or Ellen Ripley. Then I realized I would have to prepare a lot for the role. She knows archery, tree climbing, martial arts… It's a mix of excitement and nervousness for a project, not knowing how things will unfold. But every time I step onto the set, in the motion capture suit, with cameras capturing every moment, I always feel ready,' she said.
'The villainous mastermind' Stephen Lang expressed his gratitude for James Cameron's trust, giving him autonomy in many scenes. 'Firstly, Jim encouraged my creative freedom. He instructed me, allowed me creative control over the character. And this is important because there are many people on the team, but he still gave me the authority. He's the film's director, he's the boss, yet he still empowered me. It's a very gracious attitude, a wise decision, I think. And I'm fortunate to be able to do that,' Lang shared.
