The tranquility in Con Dao is the perfect haven for those who wish to escape the urban hustle, immersing themselves in nature, the sea, and embracing a slow-paced lifestyle.
Immerse in 2 days of slow living, enjoying the serene sea and sky on your Con Dao trip
Here are the insights from Diệu An after her 2-day trip to Con Dao, inviting you to explore.
Getting to Con Dao: To reach Con Dao, you have two options: by boat or by plane.
Boat: There are regular and high-speed boats, with ticket prices ranging from approximately 200,000 VND to 450,000 VND for each type.
Airplane Tickets: Only Vasco operates flights to Con Dao. Round-trip ticket prices range from 2.3-2.7 million VND depending on the day and time of departure. I traveled over the weekend, so the ticket prices were at the highest. Since Vasco's flights accommodate only 60 passengers, if you plan to travel over the weekend, it's advisable to book your ticket early, and I recommend doing so about 10 days in advance.

Accommodation
I opted for Uyên’s House, which is both charming and affordable. Room rates here vary from 100,000 to 700,000 VND depending on whether you choose a dorm or a private room. I selected a room for 3 people at 700,000 VND. The homestay is conveniently located near Con Dao Market and the night market.

Sightseeing and Activities on the Island
To explore the island, you can rent a motorbike for 120,000 VND per day, with self-refueling. There are many attractions here, but due to time constraints, I couldn't visit many.

You can also rent a boat to go to the fishing grounds, and there's a small boat to pick you up to the fishing grounds free of charge. Seafood here is diverse, with prices ranging from 500,000 to 1 million VND per kilogram depending on the type. A seafood meal for three will cost around 700,000 VND, leaving you pleasantly satisfied.

After savoring the seafood feast, we returned to our cozy hotel and spent the afternoon leisurely strolling around. There's a charming café right near the homestay.

Even though we visited over the weekend, the atmosphere on the island was remarkably tranquil, with very few vehicles on the roads, probably because the residents here are not numerous.
