Located at the end of a narrow alley in Hai Chau district, this café is a magnificent conversion of a grand three-story ancient house. A large canopy of leaves shades the entire café, providing a cool and serene atmosphere.
Address: 59 Hai Phong Street, Thach Thang Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang

The 59 is a brand new coffee shop, transformed from a vintage building dating back to the 1970s in Hai Chau district, Da Nang City. Unlike the modern-style cafés commonly found in Da Nang – a bustling city, The 59 is tucked away at the end of a small alley on Hai Phong Street.

The grand old house, with three floors but only one room for rent, had been abandoned for many years. Upon discovering its beauty, the architectural team conceived the idea of transforming it into a café for young people, while still preserving its original charm.

As a result, the architects decided to retain old materials such as washed stones and glazed tiles, juxtaposing them with new materials, creating a stark contrast with concrete and steel.

By respecting its antiquity, at first glance, we can discern the intriguing aspects of the massive gray ancient building that evokes nostalgic feelings for what remains...

Moreover, being nestled under a large canopy of leaves gives The 59 a tremendous advantage.

It contributes to building a green area in front of the café, connecting with the garden and creating an impression of an environmentally friendly café for customers.

Additionally, the café owner also utilizes their family's old items such as cameras, cassette tapes...

All of these are placed in every small corner of the café, creating a vintage theme while ensuring a strong connection with the spaces.
