Constructed in 1937, this Dinh underwent renovations by the local community and authorities in 1997. Many sources suggest that this seaside Dinh has a much longer history, with its initial construction dating back to the 17th century.

Perched gracefully on a rocky promontory, a small stone bridge leads from the sandy shore to the Dinh. Ascend the 29 stone steps, and you'll enter a courtyard enclosed by a cement wall. The main entrance faces East, overlooking the open sea. The interior is solemn, adorned with beautiful decorations. Within the palace, statues of deities, including Tài and Quý, are revered by the locals as protectors of the lives of the fishing village residents.

Due to its modern architectural style, Dinh's structural materials render it both contemporary and robust. Viewed from a distance, Dinh Cau resembles a miniature fortress, guarded by surrounding rocky cliffs. On the rocky promontory, tall green trees provide expansive shade. The age-old Sop tree on the Dinh has stood for nearly a century, braving the ocean winds and abundant mist. The overall appearance of Dinh Cau still carries a touch of Northern temple architecture, with red tiled roofs, gate pillars featuring curved boat-shaped canopies. On the roof, a depiction of 'dragons flanking a moon' is embellished. Inside the Dinh, elaborate decorations abound - a clean tiled courtyard in front, with an ornate horizontal plaque above inscribed with Vietnamese script. Vibrant flower arrangements adorn the walls alongside a pair of poetic couplets:
“Seated on a grand stone, a renowned name echoes
Throughout eternity, noble spirits resonate across four seas.”
Rough Translation: Dinh Cau sits at the head of a rocky promontory, resembling the majestic head of a tortoise, its fame echoing across the four corners of the sky.
The refreshing natural scenery, embracing the four seasons' breeze, each wave gently kissing the ancient moss-covered structures. Besides exploring the renowned spiritual site, you can stroll along the coastline with its stretch of white sandy beaches. The waves, especially during the dry season influenced by the Northeast monsoon, can be powerful. In the rainy season, the coast experiences the influence of the characteristic Southeast wind, bringing abundant rain. However, visiting Dinh Cau during this time offers splendid sunny days. The endless blue sea, bathed in golden sunlight, provides an eternal and soothing view from Dinh Cau.

Numerous legends surround Dinh Cau. Historically, the local people earned their livelihoods through net fishing at sea, often confronting rough waves and strong winds. There were perilous journeys with uncertain tomorrows. On one distant fishing expedition, the village's boats disappeared without a trace. Families anxiously awaited their return, fearing the worst. During that worrisome time, a high rocky promontory emerged near the protruding beach. Like an eerie omen, the fishermen's boats safely returned the following day. They recounted that in the blurry mist, they lost their sense of direction, but spotting that high rocky promontory helped them navigate back to shore.

Believing the rocky promontory to be an auspicious and benevolent omen for the people, the elders erected a shrine atop it. Over the ebbs and flows of time, fishermen have come to worship and renovate Dinh Cau as it stands today. Initially dedicated to Long Vuong, the dragon god who protected and guided fishermen, later two additional deities were enshrined—human gods credited with safeguarding and teaching the people their livelihoods, especially the art of seafaring. However, numerous stories and legends surrounding Dinh Cau add to its mystical and sacred aura amid the vast sea.

The shrine at Dinh Cau, honoring deities, shares similarities with the general practice of mother goddess worship. Broadly, it aligns with a form of mother goddess worship in the southern region. Folk beliefs surrounding mother goddess worship in Southern Vietnam are not overly concerned with the origins of the deities but rather influenced by new cultural elements and the cultural exchange from the Northern region. Today, the local belief system at Phu Quoc enriches and diversifies the folk beliefs of the Vietnamese people.

During this event, locals enthusiastically parade flags and drums to Dinh Cau, praying for favorable weather and sea conditions.
