Lenovo debuts the ThinkPad Z13 as the pioneer ThinkPad model to boast the AMD Ryzen 6000 processor, poised to rival the Intel-powered ThinkPad X1 series since 2011.
The new ThinkPad Z series marks the collaboration between Lenovo and AMD, exclusively featuring AMD processors without Intel configurations. Meanwhile, Intel continues its partnership with Lenovo on the ThinkPad X1 Nano lineup.

Meet the compact Lenovo ThinkPad Z13, a departure from the X1 series. Lenovo aims to attract new users to the ThinkPad lineup with modified keyboard layouts, different materials for the chassis, and a redesigned tactile touchpad. The touchpad is designed without dedicated buttons for the ThinkPad TrackPoint.
The ThinkPad Z13 boasts the AMD Ryzen 6000 CPU lineup, with the base model sporting the Ryzen 5 Pro 6650U processor, slightly outperforming the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 according to benchmark scores. While surpassing the MacBook Air M2, it falls short of the Dell XPS 13 Plus.

Early benchmarks for the ThinkPad Z13 show promising results, with additional laptop tests to be updated upon official release. Lenovo has yet to provide detailed specifications and the release date for the new ThinkPad Z series.
