At Mỹ Khê, when I feel a bit tired from paddling in the water and need a break, I'll go to the shore, lie down leaning against the white sand, and gaze at the distant Sơn Trà Mountain range with the large white statue of the Goddess of Mercy. On the first evening in Da Nang, I witnessed the breathtaking pink-purple sunset at this beach, a moment of indescribable tranquility...
Marble Mountains Area
Situated on the right side of the coast is the Marble Mountains area, another place you can't miss when traveling to Da Nang. This area is famous for the Non Nuoc stone carving village, where exquisite art products are crafted from marble, renowned both nationally and internationally. The area features the beautiful relic of Hang Pagoda, with temples nestled on the mountainside and inside caves. The stone-carved statues of Buddha in the caves (resembling skylights) leave a lasting impression... The temples within Huyen Khong Cave and Van Khong Cave still bear traces of the ancient Champa people. Through numerous renovations, mainly contributed by the Phuc Kien Chinese community, the assembly hall became more splendid, contributing to the embellishment of the architectural appearance of Hoi An's ancient town.
Chaozhou Assembly Hall
Location: 92B Nguyen Duy Hieu.
Built in 1845 by the Chinese community from Chaozhou, the Assembly Hall worships the General Ma Vien - a deity skilled in controlling the winds and waves, ensuring prosperous sea trade. The hall holds special architectural value with its intricate wooden frame, decorative carvings, and beautiful porcelain sculptures.
Guangdong Assembly Hall
Location: 176 Tran Phu
Constructed in 1885 by the Guangdong Chinese community, initially dedicated to Thien Hau Thanh Mau and Confucius, later, after 1911, it shifted to worshiping Guan Gong and the state ancestors. The rational use of wood and stone in the load-bearing structure, along with detailed decorations, gives the Assembly Hall a unique and beautiful appearance. Every year on the Lantern Festival, Guan Gong's day (24th of the 6th lunar month), a solemn festival attracts many participants at this location.
Tan Ky Old House
Built nearly 200 years ago, Tan Ky House features the characteristic architecture of Hoi An's townhouses, with an interior divided into multiple sections, each serving a specific function. The front of the house serves as a storefront, while the back connects to the riverbank for shipping and receiving goods.
Constructed with traditional materials and crafted by local carpenters and artisans, the house exhibits a unique, nimble, elegant, warm, and cozy charm, while also reflecting influences from various architectural styles in the region. On February 17, 1990, Tan Ky House was recognized as a National Historic and Cultural Site.
