We departed Saigon on a rainy day in early October 2016, braving the stormy roads to experience the unpredictable weather of the Mekong Delta, akin to a capricious lady switching between sunshine and sudden rain.
Our first stop was 6 Ton Fruit Garden, Cù Lao An Bình, Vĩnh Long, where we immersed ourselves in the authentic lifestyle of the Mekong Delta, clad in traditional attire, straw hats, wading into the ponds to catch fish.

This was a fascinating experience for those who seek a deeper immersion into the Mekong Delta, catching and grilling fish by hand to enjoy a humble and rustic meal.

Leg 2: 6 Ton Fruit Garden – Bình Thủy Ancient House
Heading towards Can Tho, just 2km from the city, we arrived at the famous Bình Thủy Ancient House. It is renowned as one of the most beautiful houses in the Mekong Delta, with a history of over 100 years and has been featured in famous movies such as Lover, Western Beauty, Channels of Alluvium, Horizon there...

Leg 3: Bình Thủy Ancient House – Can Tho City
After a day of rain and wind, TP. Can Tho will be the place you stop overnight to continue your journey for tomorrow. Spending a night in Can Tho will be quite amazing as this place gradually develops, very crowded with tourists, bustling night market with food stalls, clothes... Visiting Ninh Kieu wharf with the pedestrian bridge is also a romantic destination. However, there are many robberies, so be careful to keep your phone and wallet to avoid being pickpocketed.

Day 2
Leg 4: TP. Can Tho - Cai Rang Floating Market
A place that you definitely cannot miss on your Can Tho exploration journey is Cai Rang floating market. Remember to go early around 5-6 am to enjoy the trading atmosphere of the locals here. Enjoying dishes like Hu Tieu, Banh Mi Op La or a cup of coffee swaying on the water surface is quite interesting and surely only available in the Western region. To get to Cai Rang floating market, you can go to An Binh market and rent a boat with a driver for 150,000 VND/boat/10-12 people.

Leg 5: Cai Rang Floating Market - Dong Sen, Thap Muoi, Dong Thap
Leaving Can Tho, we headed to Dong Thap province, passing through small asphalt roads, crossing rivers and fruit gardens to reach Dong Sen. We enjoyed a delicious and interesting lunch on the huts amidst a vast, sprawling lotus field. Don't forget to enjoy specialty dishes such as: rat meat, steamed snakehead fish with gourd, linh fish soup with wild water lily, lotus seed sweet soup... and there are many more dishes that you will surely marvel at.

Leg 6: Dong Sen - Saigon
With a distance of about 419 km for the 2-day journey and 450,000 VND for the trip, the experiences we had were truly beyond expectations, and we will definitely come back here one day.
