Be impressed by the ancient and unique architecture of Thatbyinnyu Temple in Myanmar
Thatbyinnyu Temple is located in the city of Bagan, Myanmar, preserving timeless beauty and numerous cultural and historical values. Notably, it is a recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site within the Bagan archaeological zone.

According to legend, Thatbyinnyu Temple was once a treasure trove of Myanmar Buddhist art. Despite the temporal changes and various restoration phases, the artworks have somewhat faded. Nevertheless, it remains a structure with immense value and a popular attraction in Myanmar.

The structure of Thatbyinnyu Temple consists of 2 tiers, resembling a Cross when observed from a distance. The first tier, constructed with brick material, has each side measuring 58 meters. The rooftop of this tier serves as a terrace. Atop this terrace, 4 smaller stupas are placed at the four corners.

To fully appreciate the charm of this temple, visitors can ascend a uniquely constructed staircase, especially the central one, guarded by two standing figures.
The roof of Thatbyinnyu temple is crafted in the form of a tower called Sikhara. At its pinnacle, a sharp golden spire resembling a neatly folded umbrella stands out, showcasing the distinctive architecture of Myanmar's Buddhist land.

Inside Myanmar's Thatbyinnyu temple, numerous thinly gilded Buddha statues are strategically arranged with various poses and forms. Approximately 500 existing Buddha sculptures contribute to the sacred atmosphere within the temple.

It might take quite some time to behold the beauty here, but the best moment is in the evening when the sun gradually sets, unveiling a picturesque sunset. As the sun still casts a hint of red behind the temple, it becomes the most special moment to embellish the panorama of Bagan's land.
