The Ducati Panigale V4 SP - the newest member of the Panigale V4 family has just been officially introduced. This special version is developed based on the foundation of the Ducati Panigale V4 S, but with additional technical enhancements tailored for the racetrack, and each product is numbered for exclusivity (although not limited in quantity).
Adding a bit more about the 'SP' designation in the name 'Panigale V4 SP'. 'SP' stands for 'Sport Production', a symbol commonly used by motorcycle manufacturers for special editions of their commercial models. This Ducati Panigale V4 SP marks the return of the 'SP' version for the first time introduced on the legendary Ducati 851 in 1987. These SP edition models are not only commercialized but also participate in the Sport Production Championship, the predecessor of today's Superstock championship.
The new Ducati Panigale V4 SP also features details borrowed from the Superleggera V4 super motorcycle, such as the 5-spoke wheels, clutch lever, mudguard, and aerodynamic winglets made of ultra-lightweight carbon, exclusive Brembo Stylema R front brake calipers, also Brembo front brake pump with MCS (Multiple Click System) technology, handlebars and footrests machined from solid aluminum (with carbon heel guards and adjustable). As a result, the weight of the bike has been significantly reduced, with the dry weight of the Panigale V4 SP only 172.8kg, very impressive.
Attractive and captivating, the distinctive 'Winter Test' paint scheme of the Panigale V4 SP is inspired by the Ducati Corse bikes used in pre-season testing for MotoGP and SBK Championships. The matte black of the fairing, combined with the matte black carbon on the wheels and winglets, contrasts with the bright red accents and the polished aluminum fuel tank, providing a truly distinctive and personality-filled appearance for the Ducati Panigale V4 SP.
The Ducati Panigale V4 SP still shares its engine with the V4 S, specifically the Desmosedici Stradale engine with 4-cylinders arranged in a 90-degree V layout. This powerhouse delivers a maximum power of 214 horsepower at 13,000 rpm, and a peak torque of 124 Nm at 9,500 rpm. Alongside meeting Euro 5 emissions standards, this engine also has a maintenance interval of up to 12,000km or after 12 months.
Additionally, the Ducati Panigale V4 SP is equipped with a range of premium amenities and the most advanced technology available today from Ducati, such as:- Cornering ABS EVO 2 braking system
- DPL launch control system
- DQS EVO 2 quickshifter system
- Traction control, slide control, wheelie control system
- Engine brake control system
- Automatic tire calibration system
- DES EVO electronic suspension adjustment system with technology from Ohlins
- Full-LED lighting system with daytime running lights (DRL) and automatic turn signals
- Lithium-ion battery
The Ducati Panigale V4 SP will have a starting price of $37,000, which is $8,000 higher than the V4S model and $3,000 lower than the V4 R model.
