The Fellow Stagg EKG electric kettle is probably well-known and used by many coffee enthusiasts already. Now that I've had the chance to use it, let me give you a rundown.
Quick intro for those who aren't familiar: This is an electric kettle used for brewing coffee and tea. Its swan-neck spout design resembles a goose's neck, hence the name gooseneck kettle. People mostly associate it with pour-over brewing, but you can use it to boil water for any beverage.

Introducing the Features of Fellow Stagg EKG Kettle
Holding this kettle in hand, it weighs approximately 990g when empty.
The handle is designed with a place for the thumb to rest, and its weight helps balance when pouring water.
When pouring with this kettle, many aspiring baristas are taught the 3-point rule: one hand on the handle, one hand on the lid, and the pour point is the third point. However, the design of the Stagg kettle handle allows you to pour with just one hand.
The black lid of the kettle has a plastic handle, and you can choose from various colors for the kettle. For example, there's a black and wood version where the lid and handle are made of wood.
Inside the kettle, you'll find a sensor that helps it gauge the water level.
If you tilt it slightly, you'll notice the spout's foot snug against the kettle's bottom, aiding in clean pouring.
Unlike regular electric kettles with just two circular elements at the base, this one with sensors has more rings, allowing it to transmit information such as water temperature to the base.
All kettle controls are operated through this single knob, making it very convenient. Adjusting water temperature, activating the timer, and more, all with just one button.
The LCD screen clearly displays the current water temperature. Even before heating, it shows the water temperature when you pour it in. This screen can also be used for timing your pour-over brewing sessions.
The back panel of this base has two toggle switches. One activates the Hold mode, which maintains water temperature at a specific level. For instance, if you want the water to stay at 96 degrees Celsius, the kettle will heat it to that temperature and hold it. It can maintain this for 60 minutes continuously.
On the other side is a toggle switch to adjust between Celsius or Fahrenheit. In Vietnam, Celsius is typically used.
The square-shaped, compact heating plate is a definite advantage.
Being able to adjust every function with just one twist of a knob is another plus point.Experience of Pouring Water with Fellow Stagg EKG
As I mentioned earlier, typically we use the 3-point method for pouring, but with the Stagg EKG kettle, pouring with just one hand works fine.
I'll conduct a flow rate test on another day when I have a flow rate scale, but for now, I can tell you that the water flow is stable and easy to control.
When you need to stop pouring, just tilt it slightly upward, and the water flow will stop immediately, without any dripping from the spout.
The boiling time is quite fast, taking about 1 minute and 30 seconds to reach 95 degrees Celsius when boiling half a kettle.
