Every year, from August 31st to September 2nd, the H'mong people gather in Moc Chau town to celebrate Independence Day.
According to ancestral customs, the Mong ethnic people only celebrate Tet once at the end of the Gregorian year. However, from 1945 until now, the H'mong people in Moc Chau (Son La) have created a new Tet - Independence Day, celebrating the National Day on September 2nd.
