Yaowarat Road, also known as Chinatown in Bangkok, is where you'll immerse yourself in hundreds of incredibly enticing dishes at very affordable prices.
Chinatown – An Unmissable Culinary Paradise in Bangkok
Yaowarat Road, famously known as Bangkok's Chinatown, is a destination highlighted in every Bangkok travel guide. Unlike many other places in Bangkok, Yaowarat Road does not have a direct train running to it. Therefore, you can only get here by bus, taxi, or tuk-tuk. Despite the inconvenience of transportation, this place is always bustling, especially in the evening.

There are many reasons why, but perhaps the most important reason is that every evening, this place undergoes a transformation, turning into a culinary street where you can find everything Bangkok has to offer. Indeed, every evening you visit here, you'll be dazzled by a variety of enticing food stalls stretching from one end of the street to the other. From pomegranate juice, orange juice, mango sticky rice to various noodles, fruit stalls, seafood... everything is colorful and enticing.

Pomegranate juice is a must-try in Chinatown, but in reality, it's hard to ignore. Along Yaowarat Road, every few steps, there's a pomegranate juice stall. The pink, refreshing bottles neatly stacked next to the large, red Thai pomegranates are not only visually appealing but also incredibly thirst-quenching in Bangkok's sweltering weather.

Don't miss the bread stall in front of the old Government Savings Bank. This place specializes in soft bread with 9 fillings like butter, custard, chocolate... It may not sound like much, but every evening, there's always a long line of people waiting to buy.

For the convenience of tourists, the stall provides slips with the names of the fillings for tourists to mark the ones they want and the quantity they want to buy. In general, if you want to buy bread here, you'll have to wait in line, but you'll definitely not regret biting into a hot piece of bread with delicious fillings.

In addition to a variety of sweets and snacks, Yaowarat also offers many savory dishes to try. The most prominent and popular ones are the two seafood stalls - one green and one red - located opposite each other in the middle of the street. These stalls are always crowded with customers and emit a fragrant aroma, making them easy to spot. They offer all kinds of shrimp, crab, squid, hotpot, tom yum... at fairly affordable prices, comparable to those in Vietnam, so if you're here, you should definitely try it at least once.
