According to local elders, Đùng Pagoda was constructed in the 11th century, boasting over 100 pavilions. It served as a retreat for Emperor Tran Nghệ Tông and Emperor Tự Đức. Nestled against the mountains, flanked by lush greenery, Phi Lai Pagoda exudes grandeur and mystique. In 2015, Venerable Thích Minh Quang undertook its renovation and redesign.
Visitors to the renowned temple complex in Ha Nam have the opportunity to admire the scenic beauty of its majestic mountains and serene waterscapes. Alternatively, they can relax and enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the lotus pond within Đùng Pagoda's premises.
First-time visitors to the temple will be pleasantly surprised by its unique layout, unlike any other. Just before the Ancestral Hall, 12 circles are drawn on the pebble ground, symbolizing the 12 human destinies. The white pebbles represent meditation, creating a serene atmosphere as you stroll through the temple grounds.
