Public Chats enables us to follow and discover things we are interested in within the Viber community. It's quite similar to Facebook's follow feature but much improved. Let's dive in and explore this exciting new feature.
1. Main Interface.
In the main interface of the new version of the Viber app, you'll notice a new tab specifically dedicated to the Public Chats feature. When you use the Public Chats feature for the first time, it will list the top 3 Public Chats that are most popular. If you're interested in something else, just tap the explore button to search for your own interests.
Comments on Public Chats are organized in a chat-like format, similar to group chat. However, here you can view all the discussions in Public Chats from the time it was created until you access it.
Click on “Follow this Community Chat Group” to start following that Public Chats. All exchange information about this Public Chats will be continuously provided to you in the Public Chats tab. Currently, Viber does not limit the number of Public Chats you can follow, so feel free to follow as many as you like.
2. Sharing and Storing Information from Public Chats.
You can invite your friends to follow a particular Public Chats, with just a simple action, you can invite up to 99 people in your contacts or share via features like Bluetooth, Mail, Skype, Facebook...
With images or videos on Public Chats, you can easily share or forward them to friends and save them to your mobile device for later viewing. Let's update Viber to the latest version to be able to use this special feature.
