Toyota has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years, moving away from less impressive designs that fail to cater to individual preferences. The new Fortuner continues to demonstrate this trend following the Camry and Corolla Cross. Its fresh design exudes genuine strength and ruggedness, undoubtedly prompting consumers to carefully consider it when comparing to other SUV models in the same segment.
The front end of the vehicle makes a striking impression with a two-tier grille surrounded by black accents on both sides, giving the vehicle a bold and substantial appearance, perfectly suited for a 7-seater high-riding SUV. Equipped with front collision warning sensors, the Full LED lighting system features dual projectors on each side, combining with 2 LED modules for both high and low beams.
The dimensions of this version remain largely unchanged. The standout feature is the ground clearance, now at an impressive 279mm, coupled with refined suspension tuning. The new suspension system strikes a balance between urban and long-distance driving needs. Unlike the softer suspension of the previous generation, which prioritized comfort and was suitable for slow-moving conditions, the new setup enables more precise handling at higher speeds, ensuring a more stable ride.
The rear end features elongated taillights that extend gracefully to the sides, lending the vehicle a sleeker and more contemporary appearance. The turn signal system boasts a Motion effect, where the light dynamically moves from inside to outside rather than simply blinking conventionally. Engine & Transmission
The most significant improvement I've noticed is the engine power. For those who appreciate performance or engine power, Toyota may not have been their top choice until now. However, that perception might need to change when considering the new generation Fortuner. The 2.8L diesel engine in the Fortuner produces 201 horsepower with a torque of 500Nm, truly impressive figures that could earn the Fortuner high marks in comparisons. This power will demonstrate its strength in off-road conditions or heavy loads, making it an optimal choice for a 7-seater SUV like the Fortuner.Interior & Convenience Features
As the top-of-the-line variant, the Fortuner Legender comes equipped with a JBL 11-speaker audio system, which is a rare feature that prioritizes entertainment. Alongside are smart connectivity features such as Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, which Toyota has been rolling out for many of its products since last year.
The driver information display features an Analog layout combined with an electronic screen, where all system information and settings are adjusted.
