Playing games while sleeping might sound surreal, but that's exactly what you'll need to do with Pokémon Sleep.
At a recent Pokemon Day event, The Pokemon Company unveiled the first details about Pokémon Sleep - a game played by sleeping. The better the sleep quality, the more valuable items you'll collect in the game.
Specifically, Pokémon Sleep is a sleep-tracking tool where you can interact with Pokémon by getting a good night's sleep each night.

Pokemon Sleep serves as a sleep-tracking tool, allowing you to interact with Pokémon within the app by sleeping.
To track your sleep, all you need is a Pokémon GO Plus + device. Similar to a smartwatch, instead of wearing it on your wrist, you place it next to you while you sleep, press the button, and simply sleep.
Pokémon GO Plus + can even play soothing melodies to help us sleep better. The company also stated that the device will be compatible with Pokémon Go, allowing users to use it to catch Pokémon.
When placed next to your pillow while sleeping, your sleep will be measured and analyzed by the game, categorizing into 3 states: Dozing, Snoozing, and Slumbering.

To track sleep within the game, you'll need a special device called Pokémon Go Plus +

Depending on your sleep type, you'll attract different Pokémon. The more you play, the more Pokémon you'll encounter, and each species will have different sleep styles like sleeping with one eye open, slumbering, or deep sleep.
The setting of Pokémon Sleep takes place on a small island featuring the presence of Snorlax (a Pokémon known for sleeping) and a Pokémon sleep researcher named Dr. Neroli.
The game's mascot will be a Snorlax known for eating and sleeping, and like other Pokémon versions, you'll also interact with a professor, specifically Dr. Naroli - an expert in Pokémon sleep research.

The purpose of this game is to encourage players to rest on time to collect more new Pokémon. The better your sleep, the higher the chance of encountering rare Pokémon!
Pokémon Sleep is developed by Select Button and published by The Pokémon Company, the same unit behind the globally sensational Pokémon GO. Initially scheduled for release in 2020, Pokémon Sleep was later postponed until recently.
Pokémon Sleep is set to launch on both iOS and Android. However, The Pokémon Company has not yet announced the official release date for this game.
