Cồn Phụng, also known as Tân Vinh Islet, emerges in the middle of the Tiền River, belonging to Tan Vinh hamlet, Tan Thach commune, Chau Thanh district, Ben Tre province. Cồn Phụng is part of the Tứ Linh (Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle, Phoenix) region. Specifically, Quy Islet and Cồn Phụng belong to Ben Tre province, while Long Islet and Lân Islet belong to Tien Giang province. During your visit to Cồn Phụng, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the serene Western river landscapes and participate in various unique and exciting activities.
Initially, Cồn Phụng was just a floating islet in the Tiền River in the 1930s, with an area of about 28 hectares. However, due to abundant sediment deposition each year, it has now expanded to over 50 hectares. The name Cồn Phụng originated when Mr. Nguyễn Thành Nam came here to build the Nam Quốc Phật Pagoda in the early 20th century. While constructing this work, the workers discovered an ancient cup with the image of a Phoenix, so they named it Cồn Phụng.
