Enjoy a sun-kissed escape to Phu Quoc for 4 nights and 3 days, all for just over 6 million dong.
Which season is the most beautiful?
The dry season runs from October to April, ideal for sightseeing and exploring. From late May to early October, the rainy season begins, characterized by heavy rains, strong sea waves, and gusty winds. If you visit in late May, expect brief morning showers lasting 1 to 3 hours at most, followed by sunny skies throughout the day.

Accommodation
Due to frequent travel, I opted for places near the city center for convenience.
Stayed at April 4 Homestay (121/8 Trần Hưng Đạo, Dương Đông town) for 2 nights to ease my schedule. Room price was 650k/night. The homestay has a charming and gentle design with an open-air bathroom, perfect for Instagram-worthy shots. However, the sandy courtyard may cause a bit of inconvenience and the surrounding bamboo bushes might seem eerie at night. Complimentary breakfast included.
Riverside Mini Hotel: Located within the Grand World complex. Upon arrival, they provide electric car service to pick you up, very attentive and courteous. Room rate is 800k/night. The room might be small but incredibly cute, with a balcony offering a high-rise view of the Grand World area.
Schedule
Day 1: Hanoi – Phu Quoc – Phu Quoc Night Market
Arrived in Phu Quoc around 7:30 PM. Checked into April 4 Homestay and headed straight to Phu Quoc Night Market for food, snacks, and souvenirs. The market offers a variety of seafood dishes and snacks such as coconut dessert, rolled ice cream, and various flavored chouchou nuts (bought a few boxes as unique gifts, quite exotic).

Day 2: Mediterranean Area – Sunset Sanato – On The Rock Restaurant
I planned to visit Rach Vem early in the morning on the 3rd. Exploring here at dawn offers stunning light and a refreshing breeze, with the sea stars closer to shore. The journey to Rach Vem involves about 6-7 km of rough dirt roads, a bit tricky to navigate, crossing a new bridge to reach an area abundant with sea stars. Upon arrival, turning right and traveling another kilometer leads to a beach adorned with numerous sea stars, fallen coconut trees, and a wooden bridge. The deeper you venture, the more picturesque it becomes. Resist the temptation to stop at the outer cafes; persist in delving deeper into the surroundings.
Phu Quoc greeted me with rain from dusk till 10 am, so I took it easy, wandering around to indulge in the culinary delights it's renowned for. I tried the addictive Kiến Xây Stir-Fried Vermicelli (priced at 65k per bowl) at 28 Bach Dang Street, where the soft vermicelli and peculiar shrimp cake left a memorable taste. Also, I savored the Beef Hotpot Feast (priced at 300k per person) at 100 Tran Hung Dao Street; the tender beef, particularly the marinated beef, was exceptionally delicious.
At 2 pm, I made my way to Grand World, checked into the hotel, and set out for some photography. Within Grand World, all transportation is by electric vehicles; no motorcycles or cars are allowed. If you arrive by motorcycle, there's a large free parking area, and entrance is complimentary. Grand World boasts brightly colored buildings and a 'Venice-like' river that exudes European charm.
Grand World features:
- The Teddy Bear Museum
- Gondola rides on the 'Asian Venice' river

- I spent the entire day exploring VinWonder, located approximately 2km from Grand World. I booked my tickets through the Klook app, saving 88k per person with a discounted price of 792k instead of the original 880k. The tickets didn't include lunch, so I grabbed some chicken and beef rice at Lotteria inside VinWonder.

- What stood out was the abundance of staff along the way wherever I went. Whenever I was unsure, there was always someone to ask. On the map, locations marked with a water glass symbolize beverage stalls, while those with fork and knife symbols indicate restaurants and eateries. The experience was delightful, and the scenery was equally stunning.
When people visit Phu Quoc, they often opt for island tours and picturesque drone shots, which are undoubtedly captivating. However, having already experienced that, I decided to skip the island tour this time.
Here are some other dining options worth mentioning:
- Oc Noc (located in the Phu Quoc night market)
- Ra Khoi (at 131 30/4 street)
Hello Cafe (66 Trần Hưng Đạo)
Sweet Pepper Restaurant (129 Trần Hưng Đạo)
Fish cake soup with tuna (27 Bạch Đằng)
Chau Doc fish noodle soup (145 30/4 Street)
Ut Luom Kèn Noodle (30/4 Street)
The tourist spots in Phu Quoc are quite far apart. So, I advise everyone not to go too far in one day, as it can be tiring due to the scorching sun. Remember to bring sunscreen and sun-protective clothing to shield and protect your skin. Wishing everyone a trip to Phu Quoc filled with beautiful photos and joy!
