The Fire Jumping Festival (also known as the Fire Bridge Festival) is celebrated by the Pà Thẻn ethnic group in Hà Giang, taking place on the 16th day of the 10th lunar month annually. This time marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the harshest period of winter. According to Pà Thẻn beliefs, fire is the supreme deity symbolizing peace and luck. The purpose of the Fire Jumping Festival is to pray for a bountiful harvest, full of health, and to ward off misfortunes.
This festival is typically organized according to each clan. Offerings to the deities include a rooster, a bowl of rice, liquor, paper money, incense, etc. After the ritual to summon the spirits lasts for about 5-7 hours, the ceremonial offering to the spirits begins at 8 p.m. Young men facing the shaman will leap through the blazing fire for 3-4 minutes without getting burned or feeling any pain, like true artisans.

For the Tày people in Ban Loan village, Yen Dinh commune, Bac Me district, the Moon Goddess is the bestower of blessings upon the mortal realm. This festival is organized to welcome the Moon Goddess and the fairies to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, praying for peace, luck, and a bountiful harvest.
