Ban Flower Festival
Unique festival of the Thai ethnic people, also known as Xên bản, Xên mường. The festival takes place in the second lunar month every year, when the ban flowers bloom white on the mountains. Ban flowers hold a significant position in the life of the Northwestern people. 'Ban' in Thai means sweetness.

Prayer festival in Muong village
A cultural and religious festival of great importance to the ethnic minority communities in the Northwest. The festival takes place at the end of January, beginning of the second lunar month each year. It is associated with the custom of sacrificing buffalo and paying homage to the water deity through the image of the water god.


The festival's activities involve various aspects of material life, spirituality, religious beliefs, harvest season, health, and livelihoods of the entire community throughout the year of the festival. Therefore, this festival is organized very ceremoniously, attracting a large number of people and tourists in the region.


Lồng Tồng Festival
The festival originates from the Tay people, also known as the going-down-to-the-fields festival. The festival is usually held on the eighth day of the first lunar month every year. People will gather in the largest and best fields. The Lồng Tồng festival symbolizes blessings, praying for favorable weather, abundant harvests, peaceful and prosperous lives.


On the day of the field-going-down festival, in addition to the fields of the village, each family prepares a feast according to their ability. Each feast includes a plate of colorful sticky rice. Each feast also has two pairs of fruit made of colorful fabric, filled with sand, cotton, with colorful turtle motifs. Traditional folk games such as spinning tops, blindfolded goat-catching, and singing competitions are often held during the festival.
