If you've ever visited Hong Kong, you'll understand the richness of its culinary heritage. Hong Kong cuisine not only follows the principles of yin and yang but also showcases nature's bounty on the dining table. A truly delicious dish must boast appealing colors, tantalizing aromas that captivate diners, the exquisite taste of fresh ingredients, and a presentation that is both attractive and impressive. Hong Kong, known as the '9th culinary school' of China, embodies the essence of all eight culinary schools, always leading with innovation and modernity.
1. Fast Food: For those with discerning palates seeking safe culinary options, explore fast-food joints like McDonald's, KFC, Burger King, or Hainanese Chicken Rice, with meals priced from 45-60 HKD per person.
2. Seafood: Along Hennessy Road and the main thoroughfares of Hong Kong Island, you'll find numerous seafood restaurants showcasing the freshest catches.
3. Chinese Hot Pot: The renowned 'Four Seasons' brand in Hong Kong tourism is quite famous, with specific addresses in many locations. Note: The restaurant here often exceeds the customer's requirements, so remember to order a little less than desired. Then, carefully check the bill.
4. BBQ Hot Pot: A Korean restaurant in Causeway Bay area. This place is quite unique, located directly opposite the Sogo shopping center, but not everyone knows about it. It's situated on the top floor of the Watson store (next to the Giordano store). The price per adult serving is over 100 Hong Kong dollars, if you're tired of barbecue, you can also order a wet pot, only adding $18 for the pot of soup.
5. Solo Hot Pot: At fast-food joints like Dai Gia Lac (Cafe de Coral) or Lumix, they both offer single-person hot pots, priced at around 68 Hong Kong dollars. It takes two people to finish.
6. Spicy Crab Dining: In Hong Kong Island, Under Bridge Spicy Crab is the top choice. The restaurant is very famous, with 4 locations but the same address and owner, so the quality is consistent. Three locations are on Lockhart Road mainly serving tour groups, bustling and noisy. One shop is located at 414-424 Jaffe Road (Wanchai), although tucked away at the back, not as prominent as the 3 shops on the main road, but less crowded and more attentive service. This shop has a menu in both English and pictures, making it easy to order.
8. Seafood Feast in Sai Kung Town: This place is the furthest away, with expensive transportation costs, but it's rated as the best in Hong Kong. It's truly fantastic to stroll along the seafood street in the town, known as the 'seafood road', leading out to the bay and offshore islands. Dining here is all about the essence of the sea, and sitting outdoors is very enjoyable. Directions: Take the B1 exit at MTR Hang Hau and take minibus 101M, or the C2 exit at MTR Choi Hung and take minibus 1A to the final stop at Sai Kung Town.
9. Modern Toilet (restaurant...with toilets)
