Exploring Bà Nà Hills in Da Nang, a Year-Round Adventure
Essential Preparations for a Bà Nà Hills Expedition
First and Foremost: Money Matters
Money is the foremost consideration in your travel kit. If you opt for a guided Bà Nà Hills tour, it covers everything – cable car, entrance fees, lunch... You just need a small amount for personal expenses and extra activities. For independent travelers like us, bringing more cash is a wise move, covering everything from A to Z.

Lunchtime Essentials
Following the advice of seasoned travelers, my spouse and I decided to bring our own food for our Bà Nà Hills excursion. The onsite dining options are relatively expensive, and the quality may not meet expectations. Carrying your own food allows you to choose a picturesque spot to savor your lunch. Alternatively, you can opt for a light meal at the wine cellar, where a variety of wines are available for tasting after the tour, accompanied by a selection of pastries. For those utilizing tour services, they often arrange meals at the Debay Station restaurant. You can also purchase a buffet voucher here for 180,000 VND per person.

Essential gear for virtual living
When exploring Bà Nà Hills, ensure to capture the moments with your camera, smartphone, and a trusty selfie stick. These are the must-have tools to preserve the unforgettable memories of your journey.
A small note to remember is to bring a hat. Even during the unpredictable weather in the rainy and sunny season, it will keep you comfortable throughout.
Suggested itinerary for Bà Nà Hills adventure:
As our trip to Bà Nà Hills was a one-day adventure, we're excited to share our detailed itinerary for your reference.
Morning: We set off at 7 AM, riding our motorbike for an hour to reach Bà Nà Hills and commence our exploration.
Afternoon: Around noon, seeking shade, we enjoyed our packed lunch. If you prefer, there are also various restaurants to choose from for a delightful meal. Important tip: Carry just enough food to avoid lugging around excess after lunch.
Evening: Following a one-hour break after lunch, we continued our Bà Nà Hills journey, capturing all the beautiful sights. Around 4 PM, we began our journey back to Da Nang city center. If you've opted for a hotel stay, this is the perfect time for check-in, unwinding, and rest.
Navigating Bà Nà Hills
Opting for Guided Tours:
Embark on a Bà Nà Hills day tour through travel agencies or consider an all-inclusive Da Nang city tour with Bà Nà Hills as one of the destinations. For single-day tours, they typically pick you up from the city center or your specified hotel location. Tour prices may vary, but most fall within the range of 800,000 – 850,000 VND per person. This includes transportation, cable car tickets, and a buffet lunch at a restaurant on Bà Nà Hills. Families with young children often prefer this option for its convenience.
Independent Exploration of Bà Nà Hills:
However, instead of opting for a guided tour, we chose to ride our own motorbike to Bà Nà Hills. After considering the limited time constraints of organized tours, we wanted the freedom to explore at our own pace. With motorbike rental prices ranging from 100,000 – 150,000 VND per day, it allowed us the flexibility to move around comfortably. Initially, we were a bit apprehensive about the unfamiliar routes, but as we journeyed, we realized that the road to Bà Nà Hills is remarkably easy – wide, smooth, and lacking steep slopes.

The route to Bà Nà Hills is quite straightforward
What to do at Bà Nà Hills?
Once you arrive at Bà Nà Hills, the first thing to do is quickly consult the map to organize your tour efficiently. The area is expansive, so plan your visits strategically to avoid unnecessary wandering and save time!

Map of Bà Nà Hills Tourist Area
First and foremost, let's talk about the ten gardens at Debay Station. Undoubtedly, it will captivate your eyes with thousands of flowers flaunting their vibrant colors. Each garden bears a unique name, but the common thread is the awe-inspiring beauty they exude. This is an absolute must-visit spot in Bà Nà. To reach it, after descending from Debay Station, you can choose to walk or take the mountain train. Opting for the train, with a ticket priced at 70,000 VND per person, seemed a bit pricey to us, given that the journey took around 2 minutes from stepping into the train to stepping out. If you prefer walking, you can take the path to the pagoda, approximately a 4-minute stroll, and it's free of charge.

Returning to Debay Station, continue your journey on the cable car to reach the French Village atop Bà Nà. Here, the first sight that greets you is the castles adorned with French architecture. The ambiance gives the sensation of stepping into another country with a lively atmosphere and a mildly chilly temperature. Feel free to explore and capture chic moments with the unique architectural structures.
Notably, Fantasy Park is an indoor amusement area spanning 21,000m2, designed across 3 levels resembling an internationally acclaimed medieval castle. Offering hundreds of games, from fun-filled options for children to adventurous challenges. An intriguing aspect is the unlimited playtime (you can replay as much as you want) at no extra cost.

Above are the places my spouse and I visited. During our next visit, a new hotspot emerged – the highly popular Golden Bridge, which you should definitely check out. Opt for a visit to the Golden Bridge either early in the morning or slightly later in the evening to avoid the crowds during check-ins.
What to eat at Bà Nà Hills?
As mentioned in the itinerary, you can choose to buy food on the way to Bà Nà Hills to save on travel expenses. Along the journey from Da Nang center to Bà Nà Hills, numerous supermarkets line the route, allowing you to grab water and essential snacks for lunch.
Alternatively, if your travel budget allows, keep an eye on the map beforehand to enjoy dining near your destination without the need for extensive travel. Typically, when traveling to Bà Nà Hills, many opt for buffet meals at Buffet Lavender or AraPang restaurants. With reasonable prices ranging from 250,000 VND to 300,000 VND per adult.
Choosing a Hotel for Bà Nà Hills Travel
To fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere, consider staying at one of the hotels on Bà Nà Hills. Currently, the Mercure French Village hotel is in operation, with a nightly rate around 2 million VND. However, the hotel often offers various promotional programs for guests staying here.

Mercure French Village
To cut costs, my spouse and I opted not to stay here but chose a hotel near My Khe Beach. Firstly, proximity to the beach allowed for comfortable seaside relaxation. Secondly, it facilitated easy commuting to explore other attractions. Thirdly, Bà Nà Hills tends to be quiet in the evenings with limited activities, and the expenses are quite high.
For this trip, we decided to book a combo package from Mytour to have the flexibility of self-guided exploration. You can check it out at: https://www.Mytour.vn/combo-du-lich/da-nang. Wishing everyone an enjoyable journey!
