Amidst lush green forests, pristine beaches, and sacred ancient temples, Bali stands out as the most enticing destination this summer.
Luxurious 5-star Bali escapade: Romantic, close to nature, and extravagantly elegant.
For those enamored by the tales of Eat – Pray – Love, Bali's breathtaking landscapes hold an irresistible charm. It seems that after indulging in Thailand for too long or relaxing in the Maldives, Bali emerges as the perfect resort paradise in Asia. After browsing through the 'Bali in me' album by the beauty-lifestyle blogger Liên Anh Nguyễn, you'll wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment!
Why did Liên Anh choose Bali? The scenic beauty, undoubtedly. Moreover, traveling to Bali and enjoying its services is incredibly easy and fast. This island is dubbed the 'island of couples', hence the scenery and resort structures here are romantic, rustic, and brimming with overwhelming amenities. And this time – July, August – is the best time to explore Bali's wonders.
Below is Liên Anh's incredibly detailed review.
Flight Booking
– Typically, when traveling to Bali, you'd need to transit overnight in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. However, you can completely bypass the overnight transit by purchasing a direct flight with Tiger Air: Ho Chi Minh City – Singapore – Bali (landing at Ngurah Rai Intl Airport).
Accommodation Options
Upon arrival at the airport, you can purchase a taxi ticket right at the arrival hall, mention your hotel's name, and they'll provide you with the standard fare. Alternatively, you can book a resort shuttle service in advance with rates varying by resort. Opting for this method is advisable as you might feel overwhelmed by the solicitations upon landing. Booking a shuttle from the resort allows you to interact with locals – genuine, friendly, and not pushy.
Choosing the Right Resort
Bali offers a wide range of accommodations, from budget-friendly homestays and dorms to ultra-luxurious resorts for you to choose from. Resorts in Bali are divided into 4 areas:
1. Kuta + Legian + Seminyak: This area is bustling to the point of being a bit chaotic in Bali due to its proximity to the beach and the airport. Hotels are clustered closely together, ranging from super cheap to super expensive. If you're traveling with family or friends and aiming for convenience and savings, this is the place to be. You can simply walk into any hotel that catches your eye as there are countless options available.
Liên Anh opted for The Kuta Beach Heritage Hotel, priced at $40 – $50 per night (around 880,000 – 1.1 million VND), just a few minutes' walk from the beach and main street, featuring a rooftop pool with direct ocean views.
2. Ubud: This area is for nature lovers seeking refuge from the human world amidst lush greenery. The renowned Hanging Garden resort was fully booked when Liên Anh arrived, so she opted for the adjacent Nandini Jungle Resort & Spa, which turned out to be an equally wise decision.
A night here costs around $300 (If a night at Hanging Garden is around $600 – $800, then Nandini ranges from $300 – over 6.6 million VND), and it could be even cheaper if you book early or catch a promotion. Nandini, being a 5-star resort, offers excellent services and architecture. Moreover, it's considered the 'sibling' of Hanging Garden. Therefore, guests can simply stroll over to Hanging Garden to be welcomed and enjoy the VIP lounge area and twin pools – the most prized assets on Bali's impressive architectural list.
3. Nusa Dua: This is a resort area with accommodations ranging from mid to high-end. It boasts Bali's most beautiful beaches. Prices are slightly higher compared to resorts in Vietnam. It's a bit far from the city center and tourist attractions. This area is suitable for those looking for a luxurious getaway as it's quieter than Kuta. You can also spend half a day in Nusa Dua to enjoy the stunning and serene beaches here.
4. Karma Beach: This is a beach area that few mention when talking about Bali, but it's actually the coolest spot! Karma Beach features many resorts ranging from upscale to ultra-luxurious, blending seamlessly between the mountains and the sea in Bali. The water here is a deeper shade of blue, the sand whiter, and the atmosphere more exquisite than Nusa Dua. Here, you can surf, sunbathe on the cliffs or by the infinity pool, and admire the beautiful people. Additionally, there's a cable car and a beach club.
During her trip, Liên Anh also visited Uluwatu and the Tanah Lot temple. Besides the temple (a Bali specialty), you can also join beach parties with beer, delicious food, and great music. There, you can stargaze, listen to music, or watch lanterns light up the sky in an incredibly romantic setting.
