(Motherland) - The upcoming changes in the LEC region for the 2023 season are expected to bring much hope to fans.
Since the success of the 'Golden Generation' - G2 Esports in 2019, the LEC region has faced successive failures at international tournaments. Specifically, during the period 2021 - 2022, no LEC representative made it to the top 4 teams at the World Championships (Worlds).

The main reason for these failures lies in the highly uncompetitive format of the LEC tournament. European teams only play 2-3 matches per week, leading to a gradual decline in skill over time. Additionally, LEC teams lack proper psychological preparation for international competitions.
However, according to assessments from the League of Legends (LoL) community, the LEC region is poised for significant transformation in the upcoming 2023 season. Specifically, commentator Wolf shared with Inven Global that LEC representatives will be highly competitive in international tournaments.

'I believe LEC representatives will be very strong in the upcoming season. Firstly, many teams are investing heavily and possess quality players. Additionally, LEC's change in competition format with more Bo3, Bo5 matches will greatly accelerate the progress of teams here. LEC teams will be highly competitive in future international tournaments' - Caster Wolf shared.

In recent years, viewers have become accustomed to the dominance of LCK and LPL representatives in international tournaments. It is hoped that LEC teams can rise up and possess enough skill to challenge the strength of East Asian representatives in the upcoming 2023 season.
