Discover 5 cities where strolling at midnight or leaving your laptop unattended is worry-free.
Osaka, Japan
Osaka is renowned for its tranquility, a characteristic palpable throughout the city. 'Japan is astonishingly safe,' remarked Daniel Lee, founder of Kansai Scene English magazine.
'Here, valuables are left on café tables without supervision while patrons step out or order drinks. This level of trust is unparalleled,' he added.

Osaka thrives with commerce, bustling with activity even into the late hours. 'Even late into the night, businesspeople remain on trains, and the terminals are as bustling as daytime,' noted Yoshie Yamamoto, director of the Noh Theater. 'Certainly, solo female travelers can ride the subway until late without a second thought,' she affirmed.
Amsterdam
With nearly a million inhabitants, Amsterdam is a relatively small place. It is the capital of the Netherlands and a place that makes people feel most comfortable when they visit.
“I feel an unbelievable sense of safety here!”, Mr. Toni Hinterstoisser (Director of Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht) said. “People can relax mentally, feel comfortable with everything here. Very peaceful. No disturbances at all.”

Sydney
Despite being the largest city in Australia, Sydney always maintains a sense of safety for its residents. “Our people can look at each other comfortably,” Mr. Richard Graham (Owner of My Detour Travel Company) shared. “If someone seems suspicious, we will inform our neighbors, and everyone will alert each other.”
Every year, the city has implemented plans to encourage people to walk with a cost of $1.5 million USD. People believe this will maintain a safe life. “Sydney is a place where the more you walk on the streets, the more you feel like a resident of the city.”
