Vung Tau, the tourist city, has long been famous for its spacious beaches and warm water all year round. Most visitors to Vung Tau tend to concentrate on two main beaches, Front Beach and Back Beach. However, during peak seasons like holidays, Tet, or summer, Back Beach in Vung Tau is always crowded, sometimes making you feel uncomfortable, and finding a clean and comfortable beach to swim is not easy. Mytour introduces a list of 8 beaches in Vung Tau that you can visit.
8 beaches tourists should visit in Vung Tau
1. Back Beach

Located in the south of Vung Tau, also known as Thuy Van or Thuy Duong, stretching nearly 10 km, Back Beach is one of the beautiful beaches of Vietnam with its long, flat sandy beach. Back Beach is located on the eastern coast, stretching from the foot of Nui Nho to the intersection of Thuy Van and Phan Chu Trinh streets to the Chí Linh area. Along Back Beach, there are many restaurants, hotels, and accompanying tourist services. Back Beach has many advantages over many other beaches in Vietnam such as stable year-round temperatures, minimal variation, moderate waves, and clear seawater. Therefore, this is the busiest beach in Vung Tau.
2. Front Beach

Bai Truoc stands as one of Vung Tau city's stunning beaches. Nestled between Big Mountain and Small Mountain, it's a serene bay. Geographically, Bai Truoc spans from the Green Light (navigational beacon) to Da Bridge, starting from 01 Tran Phu Street, all the way through Quang Trung Street to a section of Ha Long Street. Aside from the majestic Big and Small Mountains, there's the prominent Nguu Islet jutting out into the sea, a wonder of Bai Truoc. While not frequented for swimming due to being a fishing boat docking area, it's relatively polluted. However, during high tide, the area adjacent to Bai Truoc Park remains a fairly beautiful bathing beach. Particularly at night, Bai Truoc becomes a hub for recreational activities for tourists. Virtually all main roads of Vung Tau lead here.
3. Pineapple Beach

Without the hustle and bustle, without the suffocating heat and crashing sea breeze, without the annoyance of street vendors, lottery ticket sellers, fortune tellers... at Pineapple Beach, travelers will find a truly serene yet equally romantic space. At Pineapple Beach, the sea gently kisses the shore, forming elongated rocky stretches reaching out to the sea, simultaneously creating secluded, picturesque bathing pools. A not-so-large beach, just enough for 20 - 30 people, with gentle waves lapping against the rocks, an open space to gaze at passing ships, especially with rows of shady trees, beachgoers need not fear the scorching sun.
4. Berry Beach

Berry Beach lies west of Big Mountain and north of downtown Vung Tau. From Bai Truoc, along Tran Phu coastal road, past the White Palace monument about 3 km, you'll reach Berry Beach. Formerly known as Cloud Bay due to the abundant forest clouds. Today, the clouds and wild berries are gone, but its name remains attached to a wind-protected beach, with intriguing, romantic rocky cliffs. At both ends of the beach are large rocky promontories jutting out into the sea, behind the beach is a basin landscape, surrounded by lush vegetation leaning against Big Mountain's slopes.
5. Moonlight Beach

Bai Vuong Nguyet, nestled at the foot of Little Mountain and visible from the Statue of Christ with outstretched arms atop the mountain peak, boasts pristine white sands, clear waters, and abundant waves. Particularly striking are the towering rocky cliffs, especially Nghinh Phong Cape. But most enchanting are the gentle, cool breezes that constantly caress the shore. Situated within the city walls and just beneath one of the famous tourist attractions, Bai Vuong Nguyet remains relatively unknown due to the challenging mountain trail required to access it. Thus, this beach is truly reserved for those who relish exploration and adventure.
6. Thuy Tien Beach

Located on the outskirts of Vung Tau city, just past Ba Ria city, along Highway 3/2, follow the signs toward Long Cung Resort. This expansive and pristine beach is meticulously maintained, with reasonable rental prices for services and seafood that won't break the bank like those in the city. Thuy Tien Beach welcomes all visitors. Despite gaining recognition in recent years, it still remains relatively uncrowded and exceptionally clean. Its lengthy stretch of shoreline is perfect for beach activities like kite flying and soccer.
7. Chi Linh Beach

As a local beach, Chi Linh Beach sees relatively few tourists and is situated within the Chi Linh tourist area, approximately 3km from Vung Tau City. If coming from Saigon via National Highway 51C, upon reaching the Chi Linh intersection (across from the 3 high-rise 18-story buildings), turn left and continue straight on the paved road. Within the Chi Linh tourist area, the lush greenery of rolling hills and verdant valleys seamlessly merges with the azure sea, white sandy beaches, and golden sunshine. It's this picturesque beauty that has earned this place the moniker 'Dalat by the Sea'.
8. Doi Nhai Beach

Unlike other beaches, Đồi Nhái Beach remains untouched and is located in a remote area away from residential areas, making it a destination for backpackers and locals. To reach Đồi Nhái Beach from Vung Tau city, follow Highway 3.2, keep driving until you see a sign indicating the turn to Đồi Nhái. Follow that direction straight ahead. Đồi Nhái Beach is relatively shallow due to sedimentation from the river. The water here is clear, clean, and devoid of tourists on weekdays. With no commercial activities or tourist exploitation, this is an ideal spot for camping in large groups. One small note is that there are no eateries here, so be sure to prepare food, drinks, and camping gear before going.
