Uncover Da Nang's Lesser-Known Attractions
Van Village
Van Village, nestled by the Da Nang coastline at the foot of Hai Van Pass, boasts stunning pristine scenery, perfect for weekend camping getaways. Formerly known as the leper village, this quaint settlement under Hai Van Pass once sheltered those afflicted with leprosy, leading secluded lives away from the outside world.

Previously isolated, access to the village was limited to three routes: trekking over Hai Van Pass and descending along the mountain ridge, sailing into the bay, or traversing through the train tunnel and crossing several kilometers of dense foliage.

Embark on a Journey to Da Nang, where Van Village offers a tranquil haven with the whispering breeze, rustling leaves, echoing birdsongs, and the soothing sound of waves... all harmonizing to create an ideal sanctuary for those seeking peace.

Tien Sa Lighthouse
Beyond Mui Nghe, Ban Co Peak, or Linh Ung Pagoda, you can indulge in sea gazing at Tien Sa Lighthouse (also known as Son Tra Lighthouse). Perched atop Son Tra Peninsula at an altitude of approximately 223 meters above sea level, traveling to Da Nang, you'll traverse the winding roads of Son Tra Peninsula to then feast your eyes on the vast ocean.

As one of the most beautiful lighthouses in Vietnam, built in the 1950s, Tien Sa Lighthouse stands at 15.6 meters tall with the mission to assist ships navigating in the Hue - Da Nang sea area by providing direction and determining their positions. Standing atop the lighthouse, you'll have a panoramic view from the forested mountains to the vast sea with incredibly beautiful scenery.

Directions: Follow Hoang Sa Street towards the InterContinental Danang Resort. There will be signboards indicating the way. Turn right onto the Thousand-Year-Old Banyan Tree and Tien Sa Lighthouse road. After 2 kilometers, you'll reach a T-junction, turn left, continue for a while until you reach another T-junction, turn right, then drive straight until the end of the road where you'll see the lighthouse.
Dong Xanh - Dong Nghe Lake
For those who are ready to 'leave it all behind,' Dong Xanh - Dong Nghe Lake (located in Hoa Khuong commune, Hoa Vang district) is attracting many tourists with its charming natural scenery, especially ideal for weekend getaways. With a surface area of 2.4 km², the lake is surrounded by lush green grass, giving it the appearance of an incredibly serene watercolor painting when viewed from above.

Immerse yourself in the pristine nature by renting a boat to explore the lake or trekking to the source to discover cascading rocky streams. Kayaking is also a fantastic activity you should experience here.

Directions: Located 25km west of Da Nang, take QL14B, turn right at Hoa Khuong intersection, and continue straight to reach Dong Xanh Dong Nghe Lake.
Rang Beach
Starting from the center of Da Nang City, with a motorbike, in just over ten minutes, you'll find yourself cruising along Hoang Sa Street, passing Linh Ung Pagoda to reach Rang Beach. Though the slope along the Son Tra mountain side has been paved smoothly, there aren't many people or tourist vehicles compared to other tourist spots. Just park your bike at the hilltop and descend the rugged rocky slopes to explore this place.

Rang Beach boasts diverse natural formations, with a large portion remaining untouched and undeveloped, attracting tourists not only for sightseeing and relaxation but also for many fascinating discoveries. Its untouched, rustic charm creates an immediate connection with visitors upon first sight.

This beach is completely separated from residential areas, making it an ideal spot to sit by the shore and listen to the sweet melodies of the waves or immerse yourself in the azure waters, diving to admire the coral reefs.
Bang Cliff
Bang Cliff is situated on Son Tra Peninsula, approximately 20 km from the center of Da Nang. It offers a serene landscape with a coastline stretching about 2 km, surrounded by countless small and large rocks and lush greenery. Apart from a few backpackers gathering to admire the scenery, tourists are almost absent, allowing the natural landscape to retain its pristine beauty. Along the over 2 km long beach are thousands of small and large rock formations of various shapes, enveloped by lush greenery.

Behind the rugged rocky ridges lies a long beach with azure waters, white sands, golden sunlight, and rows of coconut trees casting shadows. Bang Cliff remains rustic with the rare appearance of makeshift stalls, tents, fishing rods, and locally made snorkeling goggles serving visitors to explore the coral reefs along the water's edge.

Traveling to Da Nang, here you should try snorkeling to admire the coral reefs with homemade goggles rented from the stalls on the shore. However, make sure you are a strong swimmer. Additionally, another leisurely activity to relieve stress is fishing at Bang Cliff. You can relax while also having a catch to treat everyone.
Thuan Phuoc Lighthouse
Located quite close to the city center, although not as uniquely designed as Tien Sa Lighthouse, Thuan Phuoc Lighthouse extends towards the vast sea, connected to the mainland by a wave-blocking stone embankment.

From here, you can clearly see Thuan Phuoc Bridge, along with the other unique bridges of Da Nang: Han River Swing Bridge, Dragon Bridge, and Tran Thi Ly Bridge. Moreover, during the twilight hours, Thuan Phuoc Lighthouse is also a place to catch the breeze and admire the incredibly beautiful sunset.

Directions: Located near Thuan Phuoc Bridge on the east bank of the Han River, the route to the lighthouse is very straightforward. From Tran Hung Dao Street, head towards Thuan Phuoc Bridge, then continue onto Le Van Duyet Street for about 1km. Look towards the Han River, and you'll see it.

Nam O Reef is a relatively new tourist destination for many travelers because in most of the Da Nang exploration journeys, few travel companies include Nam O Reef in their itinerary. However, Nam O Reef always sparks curiosity and excitement for those who have set foot here.

Nam O Reef covers about 2 hectares, divided into 2 clusters: the Main Reef and the Sub Reef. The Main Reef runs in the Northwest-Southeast direction, about 300m long and 50m wide. The Sub Reef is smaller, parallel and half the size of the Main Reef. Between the two reefs is a small channel about 20m wide.

In addition to the stunning natural scenery, Nam O Reef is also a haven for unique seafood dishes, including the famous Nam O Salad made from various types of fish, creating the unique flavor of this land. Furthermore, thanks to the migration of small fish, Nam O is also famous for its Nam O fish sauce.
To get to Nam O Reef: Starting from the central bus station of Da Nang, follow Ton Duc Thang Street, drive along Nguyen Luong Bang Street, pass by Xuan Thieu Beach, take the winding road into the fishing village, and you will see the long stretch of white sand beach by the peaceful sea.
