Mytour – Tương Dương is a mountainous district located in the southwestern part of Nghệ An province. It is approximately 200 km away from Vinh City and 90 km from the Nặm Cắn border crossing. It is the largest natural district in Vietnam, covering an area over three times larger than Bắc Ninh province and nearly double the size of Thái Bình province. Tương Dương is bordered by Laos on two sides, with National Highway 7A passing through it. To the west, Tương Dương shares borders with Kỳ Sơn district, and to the north and south with Laos. To the northeast, it borders Quế Phong district, to the east Quỳ Châu district, and to the southeast Con Cuông district. UNESCO has included this district in the list of places belonging to the Western Nghệ An Biosphere Reserve.
