The Hong Kong government has just announced a gift of 700,000 free airline tickets to attract international travelers. This is part of the Hello, Hong Kong campaign launched by the Hong Kong Tourism Board to entice visitors back to this beautiful island after a long period of dormancy due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This campaign, valued at over USD 12.76 million, will kick off on 02/02/2023.

1. Free Airline Tickets will be Distributed by Hong Kong Airlines.
According to official information, more than half a million free airline tickets (65%) will be distributed among three Hong Kong airlines - Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong Express, and Hong Kong Airlines. The respective airlines will determine the gift distribution mechanisms, which may include lucky draws, priority service for early arrivals, and even buy one, get one free promotions.

2. When is the Free Hong Kong Tourist Airline Ticket Giveaway?
Free airline tickets will be distributed over a 6-month period, starting from March 1st and extending until September 2023.
3. Who Qualifies for the Free Hong Kong Airline Tickets?
Although the criteria for securing these airline tickets have not been disclosed by Hong Kong airlines, they have provided information on where you can expect to grab these tickets! Around 3/4 of the tickets will be given to Asian travelers, targeting Southeast Asian countries. Travelers from Northeast Asian and Chinese countries can also try to secure these tickets.

It's also announced that travelers can expect to receive a Hong Kong Gift Set per person starting from February 2, 2023. With this gift set, travelers can redeem complimentary drinks and cash vouchers for use at selected attractions, shopping outlets, and dining establishments.
These gifts include:
- Free drinks from over 100 bars, restaurants, hotels.
- Cash voucher worth 100 Hong Kong dollars (~US$12.75) for use at one of over 140 selected restaurants, shops, or attractions.
- Exclusive souvenir (worth over 100 Hong Kong dollars) when you visit one of the selected attractions or museums.
6. Who Qualifies for the Special Gift Set from Hong Kong?
Well-intentioned travelers staying in Hong Kong for 90 days or less qualify for the Hong Kong Gift Set. They can only redeem them once via a non-Hong Kong mobile phone.
