Visit King Hung Temple - a cultural highlight of the Western region

King Hung Temple in Can Tho was initiated on June 18, 2019, sponsored by Van Phu Invest Investment Corporation. Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan - Former Chairwoman of the National Assembly and representatives of central ministries and sectors.

King Hung Temple in Can Tho is situated on Vo Van Kiet - Dang Van Day Street, Binh Thuy District, Can Tho. The project has become an attractive tourist destination for Vietnamese people nationwide, especially those in the Western region, and is considered a special highlight of Western culture.

King Hung Temple brings a new architectural feature to Western culture. This is considered a very large project comprising various items: entrance gate, main temple, operational house, service house, ritual gate, commemorative house, courtyard, green trees, grass carpet, artificial lake, and more.

The main entrance of the King Hung Temple impresses visitors with two phoenixes welcoming guests from all directions to offer incense and worship.

The main temple is modeled after a stylized bronze drum with a square-round block according to the folk belief of a round sky and square earth. Surrounding the main temple are 18 arches, symbolizing the 18 generations of King Hung. The arches are built on 54 equal segments of the circle, symbolizing the 54 Vietnamese brotherly ethnic groups. A special feature is that almost all architectures are carved with cultural details of the Hung King period.

The artificial lake depicts the image of the East Sea under Vietnamese sovereignty with the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa, combined with water coconut trees, bamboo, and a system of green trees in the architectural style typical of the river delta region.

The main worship hall is where the ancestors such as King Hung, Father Lac Long Quan, Mother Au Co, Lac Hau, Lac Tuong are worshipped, along with ceremonial drums, bronze bells, and ancient bronze drums brought from Phu Tho province to be enshrined in the main worship hall of the King Hung Temple in Can Tho.

King Hung Temple is a significant construction, continuing the national patriotic tradition, a spiritual place for worship, and a highlight of Western culture.
