Situated near the equator with three coastlines, Malaysia's natural blessings make it an ideal tropical haven for diverse golf landscapes, a beloved destination for travelers in Malaysia.

However, what many aren't aware of is Malaysia's rich golfing history, surpassing any other nation in the region. This country has hosted numerous events across most major professional golf circuits in the world (PGA Tour, European Tour, LPGA Tour, and Asian Tour).
Indeed, since the late 18th century, following the footsteps of the British, golf has been formally introduced to Malaysia. This nation marks the birthplace of the Asian Tour professional golf circuit after The Open champion, Peter Thomson, proposed the idea to Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman.

For the first time in its 41-year history, the second-largest professional golf organization in the world, the European Tour, will conduct its qualifying school (Q-school) outside Europe. This year's venue will be at Saujana Golf Club, KL, Malaysia from September 5th to 8th.
The Els Club Desaru Coast: Home of the future Presidents Cup
There's a high possibility that the golf course named after South African legend, Ernie Els, will become the next host of the biennial team competition between Asia and the United States, the Presidents Cup.

This is one of the top-tier golf courses in the region, recently joining the ranks of the newest and finest golf courses in Malaysia. The Els Club Desaru Coast is located along the Desaru coastline, in the western part of Johor state, featuring 45 holes with 2 distinct courses: the Ocean Course (designed by Ernie Els with 27 holes) and the Valley Course (designed by Vijay Singh with 18 holes).
