As a crab species, the sam here is transformed into various dishes such as sam sausage, sam eggs, and sweet and sour stir-fried sam legs. Instead, there are pre-set cups of tea on the tables for display. Mostly, these are common and familiar teas like black bean, green tea, soybean, and lotus seed teas. The most notable is the green jelly dessert (green grass jelly). This handmade jelly, made from grass leaves, is very refreshing. After being processed into a soft jelly, just add sugar and ice, and you can enjoy it immediately. It's an excellent cooling treat at an affordable price.
From the tea stalls, just a few more steps, and you've reached the dried squid stalls – a famous specialty of Ha Long. Made from pure squid with a secret spice marination, the squid here is fried on the spot, always hot, fragrant, and crispy. Even if you didn't plan to buy, when passing by and smelling the enticing aroma of freshly fried squid, many can't help but stop, taste, and purchase a few bags as gifts.
If you want to buy fresh shrimp, crab, oysters, fish, or squid, you won't have to go far as the seafood selling area is right nearby. Adjacent to it are stalls selling various dried seafood. If you're quick, in just 1.5-2 hours, you can explore every nook and cranny of the market and buy everything you need for an exciting Ha Long travel journey.
