Phu Yen Tourist Spots
1. Vân Hòa Plateau
Phu Yen Travel Destinations
Vân Hòa Plateau is often likened to the Dalat of Phu Yen, boasting expansive landscapes and winding roads (at an altitude of approximately 400 meters above sea level). The well-paved roads offer breathtaking views, both vast and majestic, with a bowl-shaped structure, perfect for you to explore and capture wide-angle shots.

Heading to Vân Hòa Plateau is not just a direct journey to a destination; you can enjoy the scenery and 'live virtual' experiences during the journey. Valleys and cultivated lands along the way, deserted white roads... all can become subjects or backgrounds in your dazzling photos.
Expansive green meadows stretch on both sides of the road to Vân Hòa Plateau. @chuotism

A water lake along the way, looking across, resembles a piece of Dalat by the coastal region, with patches of fertile land extending to the water's edge and small houses nestled under the shade of trees. @chuotism
If you encounter difficulty finding the way to Vân Hòa Plateau, you can use the phrase 'Uncle Ho's Church' - another destination in Phu Yen.
This is the check-in spot with a swing overlooking the valley when visiting Phu Yen. @chuotism
From Uncle Ho's Church, heading to the right, you will encounter a youth facility with a slope adorned by beautiful rows of pine trees. Surely, you won't hesitate to capture some shots here!

Vân Hòa Plateau is approximately more than 30 km from the city center of Tuy Hoa. If coming from the center, take Hung Vuong Boulevard to reach National Highway 1A, go about 14 km until you reach a three-way junction (with a sign next to the traffic light), turn left, and continue straight on DDT 643 road to reach Vân Hòa Plateau.2. Đèn Gành Lighthouse
You will also travel on National Highway 1A, and when you reach the Phu Diem intersection, turn right, continue straight, and ask the local residents at the People's Committee of An Hoa commune for directions to turn left. Continue beyond Tuy An Bridge, past Dam Market, and inquire about the route to Ganh Den; the locals will guide you. When mentioning Phu Yen tourism, people often recall Ganh Da Dia, sometimes overlooking Ganh Den. However, in reality, these two locations are very close, just about 15 minutes, forming a triangle on the map. Upon reaching the Ganh Da Dia parking lot, turn left and go straight; you will encounter a few beverage stalls. From here, you can park your vehicle and head straight to Ganh Den – the location with the lighthouse.

However, not only the lighthouse can be an 'Instagrammable' spot, but the surrounding scenery and, especially, the rocky edges at Ganh Den are also perfect for your photos. The golden sunlight of the coastal region spreads over the brownish-yellow rocks, blending with the characteristic vibrant blue of the Phu Yen Sea, truly deserving a 'perfect 10 for quality'!

The 'trapped rock' at Ganh Den is also one of the interesting highlights that always captivates visitors when exploring this area.
3. Ganh Da Dia
Introducing this destination when talking about Phu Yen's attractions may not be necessary anymore, right? With the structure of the stacked rocks resembling a giant beehive crafted by Mother Nature's hand, Ganh Da Dia is always a famous landmark. It's not only renowned for its own beauty but also because standing here allows you to gaze upon the vast expanse of the sky and sea.

As mentioned earlier, instead of turning left at the crossroads to go to Ganh Den, look to the right, and you will see the entrance to the national relic Ganh Da Dia. This is a fee-charging tourist site, with adult tickets priced at 20,000 VND/person and 10,000 VND/child (prices for tourists, not applicable to local residents).

Ganh Da Dia is located about 30 km from Tuy Hoa city and was recognized as a national-level natural landscape in 1998. Right next to Ganh Da Dia is Bang Beach - a white sandy beach stretching into a crescent shape. This is also a fun destination with beach activities, camping, and more.
When it comes to 'living virtually,' this is the most impressive check-in location. @lovezlily
Here's an extra treat for you, on the way to Ganh Da Dia, make sure not to miss the white sandy beaches on both sides of the road. The milky white background of the sand, blending with the simplicity of the surroundings and the delicate touch of agave and cacti, will be the scenery that helps you 'break through' in terms of 'truất's' and breathtaking beauty!

4. Dai Lanh Lighthouse
This place is dubbed as the first sunrise point in Vietnam – the easternmost point of the country. Although there are still debates about it, temporarily setting that aside, it must be acknowledged that witnessing the sunrise at Dai Lanh Lighthouse (also known as Dai Lanh lighthouse) is a top priority.
Dai Lanh Lighthouse. @trantuhuy
Mui Dien is approximately 30 km from the center of Tuy Hoa and in the opposite direction of the Tuy Hoa – Ganh Da Dia route. Also from Hung Vuong Avenue, drive straight to Bai Nga, after a while, you will reach the coastal mountainous stretch of road; look to the left, and you'll see the turn to Mui Dien Lighthouse (if you keep going straight, you'll head to Cả Pass to Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa).
The coastal mountainous stretch of road leading to Dai Lanh Lighthouse. @chuotism
As it is the earliest mainland sunrise point in Vietnam, you need to prepare to leave very early, or else you won't catch the sunrise (partly because the sun rises quickly, in about 15 minutes). Typically, if you don't stay overnight at Bai Mon (at the foot of Mui Dien), you often have to depart from Tuy Hoa around 3:30 am. This is because when traveling to Mui Dien, you will have to climb a mountainous path (with steps) for about 1 km to reach the lighthouse. The path is quite steep, and it can be exhausting if you rush, so take your time! Currently, there's a motorbike service to take you all the way up, but I believe it will be more enjoyable if you climb on foot - a bit of exercise while enjoying the fresh air in the early morning, occasionally catching the scent of grass mixed with the sea salt.

Endure a bit, but rest assured that when you admire the sunrise here, you will find all the effort you put in completely worthwhile. The sunrise will begin with streaks of purple and gold gradually illuminating and shining over the sea.

If, unfortunately, you start late and can't make it to the lighthouse in time, you can still choose to witness the sunrise on the pass. The scenery is equally magnificent.

This road will pass by Bai Nga, the white sand hills, and the shrimp farming fields of Phu Yen fishermen – all wonderful landscapes for your lens.

However, please note that there is a construction site with many potholes and gravel on the way. If you're heading out early to catch the sunrise or speeding, it's easy to slip and encounter danger. Be cautious and pay attention!
Mui Dien Lighthouse is a paid tourist destination with a fee of 20,000 VND/adult and 10,000 VND/child. The price for renting a motorbike to take you there is 50,000 VND/person/one way.
5. Bai Mon
Bai Mon is located at the foot of Mui Dien, and you can combine Mui Dien - Bai Mon into a sightseeing itinerary in Phu Yen. The charm of Bai Mon comes from its pristine, deserted, and comfortable feeling, incredibly refreshing for anyone who comes here.Bai Mon has a structure resembling a small pond, meaning it is enclosed by two mountains (Nay Cape to the North and Dien Cape to the East), and the coastline here is not large. From Mui Dien Lighthouse, go down a few hundred meters, and you'll see a sign directing you to Bai Mon on the right.

Flat and rounded rock formations, shaped by the erosive action of water, combined with the clear, pristine blue sea, truly make Bai Mon one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam.

You can camp at Bai Mon to await the sunrise from the lighthouse, as the area features extensive stretches of white sandy hills, creating a picturesque and perfect setting for a night camp.

6. Bai Xep – Ganh Ong
This is a filming location for the movie “I See Yellow Flowers on Green Grass” – featuring scenes of children playing with kites. When you come here to search for yellow flowers and green grass, you'll surely be mesmerized by the fantastic blend of East and West beauty. The pristine white sandy beach with thatched-roof shelters resembles a coastal beach in the U.S., but the rocky outcrops by the sea covered with grass and dragon fruit plants give it a distinctly Vietnamese touch – and the common factor is the breathtaking beauty.
Bai Xep – Ganh Ong is a must-visit gem in Phu Yen. @thieuhc
Bai Xep – Ganh Ong is located in An Chan commune, Tuy An district, Phu Yen, about 20 km from the center of Tuy Hoa on a road flanked by white sand and interspersed with bamboo forests amidst rice fields.Bai Xep is free for tourists, but if you come by motorcycle, there is a fee (10,000 VND/motorbike, 50,000 VND/car under 7 seats, and 70,000 VND/car over 7 seats). There are also restaurants serving food and overnight accommodation services to meet the needs of travelers.
The golden sunshine and deep blue sea give Bai Xep a distinctly 'Western' vibe. @chuotism
You can choose to stay here first and walk along the coastline to the filming hill, or walk back to the gate and take a motorbike straight up (you can ask the staff for directions).
Climbing up this slope, you will reach the filming grassy hill. @chuotism
Stepping into this place, before you, unfolds a refreshing green of grass and clusters of dragon bones. Imagine standing amidst a landscape where on one side is the blue sea with white sand, on the other is a lush expanse of green grass and trees, above is the high sky, and below are the foamy waves washing the white stone shore - an indescribably wonderful feeling!
Wild clusters of dragon bones grow here, facing the intense blue hue of the sky and sea. @chuotism
But be cautious when taking pictures with the dragon bones here, as they are natural and grow in intense sunlight, the thorns are very sharp and could make you bleed!
If you are a 'virtual living' enthusiast, you can't miss Bai Xep - Ganh Ong when traveling to Phu Yen. @gusrue

7. O Loan Lagoon
O Loan Lagoon, if you're coming from Tuy Hoa, is about 20 km along National Highway 1A. If you choose to go towards Ngan Son Bridge, you'll see a large stone sign introducing the O Loan National Monument. If you opt for the route under Long Phu Bridge, you'll drive a bit further and notice shrimp farming ponds on your right-hand side.A tiny note for you, if you take the Long Phu Bridge route, venture deeper to reach the spots where people usually capture the sunset. Alternatively, you can inquire with the locals at the O Loan Lagoon shrimp farms; don't be too quick to turn back if you haven't seen anything beautiful yet. This outer area is just the local shrimp farming spot, not the 'virtual living paradise' you may be looking for.

When talking about O Loan Lagoon, you can't forget about blood cockles – the seafood considered a famous specialty associated with this location in Phu Yen. If you visit here, indulge yourself in dishes prepared from O Loan Lagoon blood cockles. The blood cockles here are large, not chewy, sweet, and especially prepared on the spot. You buy as much as you want, and the seller will weigh it for you!

8. Deo Ca Pass
Deo Ca Pass is a scenic route connecting beautiful destinations in Phu Yen such as Mui Dien, Vung Ro Bay, Dai Lanh Beach, and continuing straight through Khanh Hoa to Nha Trang. It is considered a stunning route that captivates the hearts of many Instagrammers and adventure enthusiasts.

Along the mountain pass, there are small roadside stalls, ideal spots for you to admire the fantastic scenery of Deo Ca. However, make sure to inquire about prices beforehand, or you might end up paying exorbitant amounts, perhaps up to 40,000 VND for a fresh coconut!

9. Dai Lanh Beach
Phu Yen tourist destination

Dai Lanh's allure lies in its clarity: from the smooth white sand to the crystal-clear water, providing a refreshing and relaxing sensation. The shoreline has a gentle slope, with manageable waves, making it suitable for recreation while minimizing accidents or risks.

From Deo Ca, you'll run about 12 km to reach Dai Lanh Beach. Here, you have two choices: either head straight to the entrance of the Dai Lanh beach tourist area or run a bit further to get to Dai Lanh Beach. Both are essentially the same Dai Lanh Beach, but the Dai Lanh beach tourist area has an entrance fee (10,000 VND/person) and is developed as a place for dining, picnics, and accommodation. Services here include renting huts, umbrellas (100,000 VND/2 wooden loungers), bamboo boat paddling (100,000 VND/hour/6 people), campfire wood, life jackets, folding chairs, and renting freshwater bathing spots.

This is a reliable check-in spot for your Phu Yen trip. @chuotism
But if you appreciate the raw beauty of Dai Lanh Beach, just wanting to immerse yourself in the sun, sand, and sea, you can skip this and continue running straight for about 1-2 km, asking locals for directions down to Dai Lanh Beach.

From Dai Lanh Beach, you can rent a boat to Hon Nua, Dam Mon, visit the fishing village in Khai Luong... Dai Lanh Beach is also known to be close to Vung Ro Bay – one of the most beautiful bays in Vietnam, famous for the legendary 'unsinkable ship' during the resistance war against the U.S.10. Vung Ro Bay
Vung Ro Bay was once a military site, but now, with the war long gone, it has become a charming and alluring tourist destination that attracts many visitors.

11. Nhat Tu Son Island
Nhat Tu Son is considered one of the most beautiful islands in Xuan Dai Bay (belonging to Xuan Tho 1 commune, Song Cau town) and is famous for its direct pathway from the mainland to the island during low tide, similar to its 'sibling' Diep Son Island. From the center of Tuy Hoa city, take Hung Vuong Avenue to National Highway 1A, head north for about 50 km, and you will reach Nhat Tu Son. Many mistakenly think Nhat Tu Son is a unique mountain temple, but in reality, the name 'Nhat Tu Son' refers to the island's shape in the middle of the sea – like the character 'Nhất' in Chinese.

During low tide, the connecting pathway between the mainland and the island emerges, offering a unique experience for travelers who come to Nhat Tu Son, alongside its beauty and tranquility.

If you visit when the water has not receded, you can rent a canoe to go directly to the island and wait for the path to appear. The ticket price is 30,000 VND/person for both round trips, with a phone number for you to call for a pickup at any time.

12. Ong Cop Wooden Bridge
On the way from Nhat Tu Son towards the Xuân Đài Bay, you can make a brief stop and visit the Ong Cop Wooden Bridge (also known as Binh Thanh Bridge or Tuy An Bridge) – renowned as the longest wooden bridge in Vietnam, connecting the northern villages of An Ninh Tay commune (Tuy An district) with Song Cau town. The Ong Cop Wooden Bridge is approximately 400m long, constructed with wood, bamboo, and iron. When visiting, there is an entrance fee ranging from 1,000 VND to 5,000 VND/person, depending on your mode of transportation and the weight of your belongings.

This is a famous spot for those visiting Phu Yen, known for its uniqueness and 'sparkling in any photo' charm. Moreover, many people use this route to shorten the distance to Ganh Da Dia, Mang Lang Church, and other attractions.

13. Filming Locations of 'Yellow Flowers on Green Grass'
Certainly, many of you will be 'hunting' for the beautifully captivating locations that appear irresistibly on each frame of 'Yellow Flowers on Green Grass', right? Not as 'famous' and easily searchable as landmarks like Bai Xep, Ganh Ong... other locations such as rice fields, straw stacks, cattle sheds, bamboo bridges in the village... are scattered across different districts and communes. Let Mytour 'spill the beans' for you on these authentic filming locations of 'yellow flowers and green grass'!
Endless stretches of rice fields along the rural roads. @chuotism
Most of the rice fields were shot in Phuoc Loc village (Hoa Thanh commune, Dong Hoa district). If you can't find them, don't despair because such 'romantic' fields extend almost everywhere in Phu Yen, such as the rural roads leading to Ganh Den, the road to Bai Xep... if you pay attention, you will also see on both sides the lush green rice fields, turning yellow during the harvest season.
But if you want to admire and 'capture' the vast, lush green or golden ripe fields, you should time it during the planting seasons of the locals. Otherwise, you might be disappointed as the fields would have been harvested, leaving 'nothing behind'!

Harvest scenes in Phuoc Loc village. @Dương Thanh Xuân
Another location is the cultural village of Ngan Son (from Tuy Hoa towards National Highway 1A, heading to Ngan Son Bridge, on both sides of the main bridge is Ngan Son village) – where scenes with the bamboo arch-covered road took place in the movie. Unfortunately, when we visited recently (8/2017), we found out that the bamboo arch had been taken down due to the reconstruction of the embankment. However, you can ask for directions to the fields to admire the scenery of rice fields, peaceful village roads... which is also extremely interesting.

Chop Chai Mountain and the fields below the mountain – where the film crew captured emotional scenes. @Dương Thanh Xuân
Heading back towards Deo Ca, about 20 km beyond Dai Lanh Sea, you can find Tu Bong Lake. This is also a place where the film crew recorded scenes, and the landscape here is quite fascinating for you to explore and capture beautiful images.
