HP Spectre x360 14t (2020)
When it comes to luxurious PC laptop experiences, look no further than the HP Spectre 14t. Exceptional design, remarkable battery life, and notably fast speed have propelled it to the top ranks of premium 2-in-1 laptops on the market.
While its performance may not be as extraordinary as some non-touchscreen models, it still stands among the fastest laptops we've tested. For light video editing, office work, and casual gaming, the Spectre 14t shines.
Dell XPS 13 OLED (9310)
Dubbed as one of the pricier ultraportable laptops, its meticulous attention to detail has proven its worth. The vibrant display and Intel Core i7 processor make the Dell XPS 13 an excellent choice for heavy workloads, while its sleek aluminum body easily slips into your backpack and is perfect for meetings. Its 16:10 aspect ratio provides a surprising amount of space for the keyboard and touchpad for your fingers to keep working.
Unfortunately, its small footprint limits its port options. With only two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a microSD card reader, and a headphone jack, you'll need to bring along some dongles if you need USB-A or Ethernet ports. The eight-hour battery life can keep you going all day, but you might want to use it on a desk, as the Dell XPS 13 tends to run hot.
HP Envy x360 15z
Fast, beautiful, and affordable, the HP Envy x360 15-inch is a dream for those who need a larger laptop without breaking the bank. Inside its gorgeous chassis, the Envy 15-inch is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 5 processor that punches above its price tag — perfect for photo editing, light gaming, and even some video editing.
The 15-inch display of the HP Envy is nothing short of stunning. It's large, vibrant, bright, and touch-enabled. While the laptop is a bit bulky for tablet use in 2-in-1 mode, it's fantastic to have the option. What's even more impressive is that it can hit all those marks while still providing nearly seven hours of battery life. It's certainly one of the best 15-inch laptops in its price range, and we doubt we'll see a worthy contender anytime soon.
Laptop Microsoft Surface 4
If you spend the whole day typing, you'll adore the smooth yet tactile keyboard of the Surface Laptop 4. It's perfectly suited for fast and accurate typing without straining your fingers. Meanwhile, its 3:2 aspect ratio display is sharp and vibrant, with plenty of vertical space to get your work done.
We tested the Intel Core i7 model, which is one of the fastest Intel laptops we've reviewed, but there's also an AMD Ryzen model available with even better performance and battery life. We only managed eight hours of battery life from our unit, but many users claim they can get upwards of ten hours. This discrepancy makes it the best Windows laptop we've tested, but it's still a good laptop.
MSI Summit E13 Flip Evo (11th Gen Intel)
The MSI Summit Flip13 Evo is a 2-in-1 powerhouse that's greater than the sum of its parts. With excellent performance, responsive and vibrant touchscreen, sturdy aluminum construction, and eight-hour battery life, this laptop becomes an excellent companion for students and professionals on the move.
It can come with up to 32GB of RAM, a rarity in the 2-in-1 space, and an Intel Core i7 processor with ideal Intel Iris Xe graphics for heavy multitasking, video editing, as well as graphic and illustration design. Particularly, artists and note-takers will delight in the MSI Pen, a pressure-sensitive stylus similar to the Surface Pen included with the Summit Flip 13.
Our only issue with this laptop is its keyboard, lacking tactile feedback and making it difficult to know if you've pressed a key if you're a light typist. On the other hand, its touchpad is smooth and gesture recognition works flawlessly. The Summit Flip 13's display is bright and vibrant, easily adapting to both bright coffee shops and dim bedrooms. All the standout features of the Summit Flip 13, from its excellent touchscreen to premium build, help it stand strong in fierce competition.
