When West Lake's hustle becomes overwhelming, find solace at PingPong Cafe & Decor.
Don't be mistaken; PingPong is far from empty. What makes it stand out from the rest of the cafes around West Lake? Find out in TopListCafe's review below.
Location
Situated at 148 Tu Hoa (Quang An, Tay Ho), this is the first key aspect that sets PingPong Cafe apart from other renowned establishments. This area connects to Au Co Street, housing a plethora of 5-star hotels such as Sheraton, Intercontinental, and upscale services.

Apart from the bustling Xuân Diệu Street, the surrounding area mainly consists of residential areas and lotus ponds. Compared to Nguyen Dinh Thi and Trich Sai shores, Tu Hoa Street is farther from the city center and sees fewer crowds.
This very aspect makes the atmosphere of PingPong Cafe even more tranquil. Here, you can truly admire West Lake without worrying about noisy traffic, bringing a sense of serene tranquility like never before.
Ambience
Overall Impression
The prominent feature of PingPong's facade directly facing West Lake is its unobstructed view, with no blind spots or obstacles blocking the sight. The adjacent sidewalk is spacious, and even the lakeside edge is larger than that of Nguyen Dinh Thi, providing ample parking space without congestion.
The establishment comprises 2 floors, including outdoor space on the sidewalk, equipped with large glass doors for indoor diners to enjoy the scenery. The outdoor seating features high stools with backrests, while small round tables are suitable for groups of about 3 people (can be combined if more crowded).

Admire the lake view from the second-floor glass door.
Besides, PingPong also offers a variety of international cuisine (tacos, burritos) and coffee. You can spend an entire day wandering around without getting bored or worrying about having a 'flat' stomach.
Decor & Interior
Originating from a furniture design and distribution company (PingPong Atelier) before expanding into cafe services, it's no wonder the establishment exudes exquisite beauty and meticulousness in every corner. This is what caught my attention—the color scheme of PingPong Cafe.
The emerald green tone outside paired with the warm orange of the interior and accessories creates a very harmonious atmosphere. The cups, plates, and chairs are all chosen to complement the color scheme without deviation.
Chairs, closets, and shelves are filled with various decorative accessories, and you can even inquire about purchasing products if interested.

Both the first and second floors are divided into two small sections, with similar purposes and decoration styles:

Overall, the interior space of the cafe is meticulously designed, adorned with modern decorative accessories and indoor plants. Whether you come here to chat, work, or simply sit alone reading a book for relaxation, it all provides a pleasant and comfortable feeling.
Service Quality
Beverages
PingPong Cafe serves both food and traditional coffee (black, white, iced...) as well as machine-made specialty coffee (Espresso, Mocha, Latte...), not to mention a variety of teas.
I opted for Golden Lotus Tea and Latte when visiting PingPong. Some less common coffee varieties on the market, such as Soy Latte and Dalgona, are also available on the menu. If given another chance, I'll try selecting even more unusual choices like those.

PingPong's price range falls between 40,000đ and 70,000đ for beverages. Additionally, the cafe also serves a few light dishes such as salads, sandwiches, and fries, with prices possibly exceeding 100,000đ.
Music & Wi-Fi
PingPong's playlist mainly consists of soothing lo-fi tunes, perfectly complementing the ambiance and scenery here. The spacious area helps keep the volume at a moderate level, avoiding any discomfort from prolonged seating.
Fast Wi-Fi, no connectivity issues or intermittent speed.
Service
During the Tet holiday period, PingPong Cafe has a staff of 2 people including the barista. Despite the outdoor seating area often being occupied, it's advisable to lock your bike for peace of mind as this area is less crowded than other spots around West Lake.
The staff at PingPong Cafe may be quiet but they are gentle and approachable, understanding of the guests' needs. When placing an order, you'll receive attentive advice on the flavors to choose or how to adjust them to suit your taste.

The barista counter is located on the ground floor of PingPong Cafe.
It's not difficult to say that PingPong Cafe deserves a spot on TopListCafe's 'will return' list, as well as anyone else's. While its appearance may not be as flashy as many Instagram-worthy cafes, the atmosphere and scenery here are more than enough to make up for it.
Hopefully, you'll also have a delightful experience at PingPong Cafe and may continue to explore many other beautiful cafes around West Lake.
