White Phoenix… Familiar yet Strange
Dr. Hà Ngọc Mai, the owner of Vietnam's only white phoenix tree, shared: “Currently, several flower artisans and horticulturists from Dalat have come to request branches for grafting. I am delighted and have agreed, but on the condition that they wait until this flowering season is over for the tree to recover before proceeding. Furthermore, a landscaping company in Ho Chi Minh City has also sent a delegation to assess and propose the propagation of this rare flower species, and I have promised to collaborate with them to ensure Vietnam has more white phoenix specimens in the future.”
After 4 years of planting in her home garden, the white phoenix tree began to bloom, producing clusters of pure white flowers. As a research biologist, Dr. Mai explained that this phoenix species has been cultivated and widely distributed in many countries such as Australia, Thailand, Japan, etc. However, in Vietnam, the white phoenix has only appeared exclusively in Dalat until now.
The blooming of the phoenix tree is splendid, with its pure white blooms attracting many tourists who come to admire and take photos beside the tree as a memento.
