Detailed 3D2N Itinerary to Explore the Beautiful Nam Du Island
How to Get to Nam Du Island?
Starting from Saigon, I opted for Thiện Thành Limousine (ticket price 280k per ticket). For bookings, contact 090 8731119. Departing from Tan Phu Bus Station, Thiện Thành Bus offers convenient shuttle services from Hang Xanh and various city points for both departure and return trips. Complimentary snacks and drinks are provided in the waiting room. I was quite impressed with the service.
Ferry Tickets: I asked the reception at Humiso Nam Du to assist with ticket purchase. Opted for Superdong at 140k per ticket. The ferry service was impeccable, featuring cleanliness, professionalism, and friendliness among the staff.

Discover the enchanting Nam Du archipelago!
I opted for the Humiso package, inclusive of ferry tickets, meals, accommodation, and island exploration. The total cost is $1520/person for the charming Wooden Roof room. At Humiso, relish moments of relaxation amidst fresh air and breathtaking nature. Opt for a seaside wooden bungalow for a perfect combination of sipping coffee and enjoying the sea view.

Crafting the Itinerary:
Day 1:
– Board the bus at midnight, reach Rach Gia by 5 am, and lounge in a hammock outside the port for 20k/hammock. I spent the time waiting until 6 am for breakfast.
– Board the ship at 7:30 am, and after a 2.5-hour journey, arrive at Nam Du Island. Stringent quarantine measures include temperature checks, health declarations, and providing ID cards to the port authorities. Checking in to my room was around 11 am.
For lunch at 12:30, I took a boat to Hon Mau, an incredibly beautiful island. Most of the locals here are fishermen, so when you visit, you'll witness the lively scene of people untangling fishing nets under their porch. At Hon Mau, you can freely swim, capture stunning backgrounds, and then move on to dive and explore coral reefs. Don't miss the chance to savor delicious sea urchin porridge before returning to the mainland around 5:30 PM.
In the evening, enjoy a light dinner and take a leisurely stroll by the sea.

Day 2:
Take a stroll around the island, covering approximately 11km, and explore Men Beach. It's one of the most beautiful and untouched beaches in Nam Du Island, resembling a small bay with smooth white sand, tall coconut trees, and crystal-clear blue water.

At 11 AM, board a boat to Hon Son, with a ticket from Nam Du to Hon Son costing 70k/1 ticket. The journey takes 1 hour. I booked a room at Rai Ca Homestay (250k/1 room + 200k/1 rental bike). This homestay is a seaside complex, decorated with vibrant and eye-catching colors. The rooms are painted in various shades, and there's a charming little beachside beer bar with an adorable truck model for your Instagram-worthy shots. Additionally, they organize various sea activities such as squid fishing, coral reef snorkeling, and canoeing.
At 4 PM, head to Bang Beach to enjoy fresh coconut water and take a refreshing swim, with prices starting from 25k. In the evening, return to the homestay and have dinner there.

Take a leisurely stroll around the island, Hon Son, which is 3km larger than Nam Du. Due to the 12 PM boat schedule, I arrived at Rach Gia port at 1:30 PM. After having lunch, I boarded the Thien Thanh bus at 3 PM to return to Saigon. If you have extra time, consider conquering the majestic Ma Thien Lanh mountain.
Total Expenses
- Homestay cost at Humiso Nam Du: 1,520k (Humiso Homestay)
- Round-trip bus ticket: 560k (Thien Thanh bus)
- Homestay cost at Rai Ca: 450k (Room at Rai Ca + Bike) /2 persons
- Dinner + lunch at Rai Ca (350k) /2 persons
The total cost is approximately 2,480k/person, excluding miscellaneous expenses. Packing your bags and heading to Nam Du Island is truly worth it. Wishing you all fantastic experiences just like mine.
