With their unique features, the temples in the province of Sóc Trăng are always an intriguing destination that many travelers want to visit at least once.

Bat Pagoda (Mahatup Pagoda, Mã Tộc Pagoda)
This renowned temple, adorned with intricate architectural designs, stands out as one of the finest among the Khmer temples in Sóc Trăng. Bat Pagoda holds the distinction of being the first National Monument in the province of Sóc Trăng.

Named Bat Pagoda due to being a sanctuary for numerous bats, this temple has a history of over 400 years. Just 2km from the center of Sóc Trăng city, visitors can not only enjoy the spacious surroundings and observe bats hanging from trees but also listen to vibrant pentatonic music filling the air.

During these days of the Chol Chnam Thmay festival, visitors to Bat Pagoda can participate in and experience various unique religious activities and rituals of the Khmer people.
Chén Kiểu Pagoda (Sà Lôn Pagoda)
Chén Kiểu Pagoda is situated directly on National Highway 1A, approximately 12km from Sóc Trăng city towards Bạc Liêu. What makes this Khmer temple unique is its use of bowls and ceramic plates adorned with intricate patterns, decorating the temple walls.

According to Khmer folklore, during the temple's construction, due to a lack of materials, monks came up with the innovative idea of collecting bowls and plates from the local community to decorate the walls. Admiring this temple, visitors will be fascinated by the patterns on the bowls and plates.
Similar to other Khmer temples, the main hall of Chén Kiểu Pagoda is constructed in a three-tiered style, gleaming in vibrant shades of gold. The temple garden of Chén Kiểu Pagoda is an architectural ensemble featuring various Buddha statues in different poses, depicting the journey of the birth, enlightenment, and nirvana of Buddha Shakyamuni.

Notably, Chén Kiểu Pagoda preserves numerous wooden artifacts, including two finely carved hot-cold beds and a set of furniture belonging to the famous wealthy 'Bạc Liêu Playboy' Trần Trinh Huy, who was affluent in the Southern region during a certain period.
Mud Pagoda (Bửu Sơn Pagoda)
Mud Pagoda, with a history spanning over 200 years, stands as a unique and renowned masterpiece, drawing attention far and wide for its thousands of clay statues of Buddhas and mythical creatures, along with candles that can burn for decades.

Located in the city of Sóc Trăng, Mud Pagoda serves as the ancestral temple for the Ngô family in Sóc Trăng. With no resident monks, the temple is solely tended to by family members, responsible for maintaining the incense and preserving the temple. Mr. Ngô Kim Tòng, the fourth abbot of the temple, played a significant role in its construction and is the mastermind behind the exceptional clay artworks, unparalleled in their uniqueness.
Alongside other temples, Mud Pagoda is a captivating destination to explore and admire when visiting the land of Sóc Trăng.
