Doraemon: Stand By Me 2 is filled with concealed details scattered throughout, exclusively for hardcore fans of the robotic cat to discover.
'Doraemon: Stand By Me 2' is based on the storyline of the chapter 'Memories of Grandma' and the short film of the same name released in 2000. In the movie, Nobita and Doraemon travel through three timelines with numerous hidden details waiting to be explored by devoted fans of the blue cat.
1. Toy from Childhood Crush
In a scene where Shizuka plays with Nobita in front of the house in a timeline when both are just three years old, Shizuka holds a banana-shaped toy and gives it to Nobita, pretending it's lunch. In the animated episode 'The Girl with the Red Shoes' from the 2005 series, Non-chan, Nobita's childhood crush, also gave him a similar banana when they played together.

2. Nobita's Birth
The scene in Doraemon where two Nobitas travel back to the day Nobita was born captures details from the comic 'Nobita's Birth' released in 1974. This story was later adapted three times, in the animated series of 1979, 2005, and the short film of 2002. In all versions, Nobita doubts being the biological child of the Nobi couple. After witnessing the hopes his parents placed on him on the day of his birth, Nobita gains a deeper understanding of family bonds and realizes the immense love his parents have for him.

3. Nobita's Grandfather
In the scene where 10-year-old Nobita meets his grandmother again, viewers can notice a photo of Nobita's grandfather and a tumbling daruma doll displayed on the cabinet behind her. This daruma doll appeared in the animated episode 'Back Then, Daruma, That Daruma' from the 2005 series. In the animated episode, the grandmother used the daruma doll to console and encourage Nobita to stand up after every time he cried from a fall. Notably, the daruma doll bears the exact resemblance to Nobita's grandfather who passed away before Nobita's birth.

4. Jaiko's Pen Name

At the end of Nobita and Shizuka's wedding ceremony, the camera zooms in on the teddy bear of Nobita's grandmother placed in front of the painting of the bride and groom. The painting is signed by the author Christine Goda, which is Jaiko's pen name. In Doraemon comics, readers know Jaiko is passionate about being an artist and has submitted stories to publishers under the pen name Christine Goda. Hence, in the future, Jaiko might have become a renowned comic artist and painted this portrait as a gift for Nobita and Shizuka.
5. Dekisugi as a Space Explorer

In the previous installment 'Doraemon: Stand By Me,' audiences were familiar with Dekisugi, Nobita's academically gifted friend, as a 'potential rival' for Nobita's affections. In this sequel, Dekisugi makes another appearance, not to compete for Nobita's love but as a close friend attending the bachelor party. Before parting ways, Dekisugi apologizes to Nobita for missing his wedding to Shizuka due to an important assignment. During the ceremony, viewers witness Dekisugi's heartfelt congratulations sent through a video message as he's on a mission on the moon.
