Classic run-and-gun platformer games are beloved for their fast-paced, action-packed gameplay, but Bite the Bullet offers an exciting change. Developed by Mega Cat Studios, Bite the Bullet is designed as a game of running, gunning, and devouring foes. In a mystical wasteland, you'll play as a hybrid between human and vampire, capable of exploding enemies and feasting upon them.

This dietary mechanic significantly impacts gameplay strategy as every decision in the diet mode affects the skill tree, weapon options, and character abilities. To add more flavor, Mega Cat Studios has welcomed some renowned chefs and the healthiest individuals in the world as guests. These culinary icons provide unique power-ups for you in the game.
Character Classes in Bite the Bullet
In traditional fashion, game developers have used food in electronic games as power-ups or health supplements for characters. However, in Bite the Bullet, your diet affects everything. The game includes 4 character classes:
- Gorivore: Consuming robots and metallic objects
- Slaughterer of the Soil: Eating plants
- A Smorgasbord: Feasting on the undead
- I See, I Eat: Consuming everything
Character classes directly impact your abilities in the game. For example, Smorgasbord has a power-up that turns enemies into undead that can explode upon death to deal additional damage to surrounding foes.
Eating for Resources
Carbohydrates, fats, and calories - they're all vital resources for crafting weapons. Alongside basic weapons like assault rifles and rocket launchers, you can dispatch enemies with Gluten-Free Railguns, Family-Sized Shotguns, and the Critter Cannon (a bazooka launching explosive creatures).
Crafting takes place inside your stomach, meaning the only way to use new weapons is to vomit them out after you've finished modifying them. Vomiting leaves you vulnerable to attacks and also depletes the valuable resources you've gathered. Therefore, craft wisely.
Diet also affects your physique. By eating enough enemies, you transform into Zombro, a beefed-up version of yourself with immortality. Eat too much fat, and you'll become obese, making you sluggish and lethargic but also more resilient. Understanding how diet impacts overall gameplay, you can incorporate Zombro, obesity, and various skill tree perks into your strategy.
Culinary World Inspiration
Eating fast and fiercely, akin to professional eating competitions. Mega Cat Studios draws inspiration from some of the world's healthiest eaters, and some of them even make appearances in the game.
Miki Sudo clinched victory at the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest for 6 consecutive years. She lurks within the game to provide you with a hot dog shield - a swirling feast consisting of slices of bread to protect you from enemies. Athletes like LA Beast (best known for his YouTube channel, where he eats things like light bulbs and cactus) and Crazy Legs (who has appeared on 'The Tonight Show') also make appearances and give gifts to you.

World-renowned chefs also make appearances in Bite the Bullet to bring one-of-a-kind dishes. Welcome chefs like Chris Cosentino (famous for winning 'Top Chef Masters'), Ming Tsai (restaurant owner and TV personality), and Kwame Onwuachi (a 'Top Chef' contestant).
Mega Cat Studios has developed a unique approach to the run-and-gun genre. Changes in gameplay ensure a constantly fresh and exciting experience while honoring classic works with Run&Gun gameplay. You can play Bite the Bullet today on Xbox One.
