Discovering the charm of Danang
Danang, to me, is undeniably one of Vietnam's most beautiful cities. Yet, many foreign tourists seem to overlook its beauty. Most only spend a night in Danang, or head straight from Hue to Hoi An. We opted for a two-night stay in Danang, even driving back here after an evening's rest in Hoi An. That says something, to us, it's a special destination.
The city isn't as bustling as Saigon or Hanoi, but it holds promise for Vietnam's future. Danang boasts numerous charming cafes, beautifully decorated restaurants, and a rich variety of street food. One notable street is Nguyen Van Thoai, bustling every evening with local eateries. The grilled chicken wings and feet paired with cold beer here are simply divine. It's easy to see why this street is a local favorite, and I'm no exception.

Danang is also a fantastic city to admire at night. You'll be amazed by the modern lighting system illuminating the Han River Bridge area every night. A perfect spot for photographers looking to capture dazzling shots. The Dragon Bridge spanning the Han River is particularly impressive, resembling a giant dragon and even capable of spouting fire. I spent hours here just admiring this bridge. I have a feeling I'll be back soon.
The beautiful beaches are another highlight of Danang. Here, you can indulge your passion for surfing.

Hoi An – A miraculously enchanting ancient town
Just about 30km from Danang lies Hoi An, our next stop. Before reaching Hoi An, we passed by a mountain called Marble Mountains. Climbing this mountain, you'll discover many unique caves and impressive Buddhist temples. From the summit, you can overlook the beautiful beaches of Danang.

Upon setting foot in Hoi An, we were pleasantly surprised by its ancient beauty. Unlike Danang, a modern and bustling city, Hoi An is a quaint town, picturesque with small shops lining its streets, always bustling with tourists.

In Hoi An, you have plenty of wonderful options for accommodation, from vintage-style cafes, bars, budget hotels to luxurious 5-star resorts. It shows that Hoi An is being well-managed to preserve its charm and uniqueness.

At night, the entire ancient town is lit up with lanterns. Especially if you visit on the full moon day, you'll witness the Thu Bon River adorned with colorful lanterns. The cuisine of Hoi An is also a reason why we adore this ancient town. Make sure to indulge in all the delicious local specialties when you visit.

Final Thoughts...
Our motorbike journey from Hue through Danang and to Hoi An can be described as a fantastic experience, despite encountering numerous heavy rains. Traveling by motorbike has always been my favorite choice, it provides me with freedom and creates the most memorable experiences. And you know what, Vietnam is a perfect place to explore by motorbike.
My favorite spot on this journey is perhaps Danang, a delightful surprise indeed. Initially, we weren't overly impressed, but the tourist atmosphere along with the city's beauty and freshness won me over, and I even wished to stay longer. Due to this unexpected love for this place, I guess I have even more reasons to come back...
