If you've ever ventured to travel to Sa Pa, you certainly can't ignore the fascinating and pristine charm of the waterfalls nestled at the foot of the mighty Fansipan mountain.
Tac Tinh Waterfall
Located approximately 30km southeast of Lai Chau town, Tac Tinh waterfall is one of the must-visit tourist attractions in Sa Pa for travelers setting foot on Fansipan mountain. With a height of about 120m cascading vertically, the waterfall spans around 40m wide at its base. Below the waterfall lies a crystal-clear lake covering an area of about 200m2, resembling a mirror amidst the lush mountains.
From a distance, the waterfall resembles a picturesque landscape painting. Especially at dusk, travelers will witness the image of a rainbow emerging over the foaming white water.

Visitors here not only enjoy the scenery but also learn the legend of the waterfall. Legend has it: In the past, in a Dao ethnic village at the foot of the waterfall, there was a stunningly beautiful girl named Lo Lan. She fell deeply in love with a young man in the village, and they loved each other passionately like deer, like deer in the forest day and night.
However, their happiness did not last long as their love was separated, unable to be together. To keep her promise to her lover, the girl threw herself into the waterfall.
Later, moved by her love and loyalty, the villagers named the waterfall where she threw herself Tac Tinh. Today, many couples come here to connect emotionally and pray for their love to last forever.
Ta Lam Waterfall

Tà Lam Waterfall is renowned as the most beautiful waterfall at the foot of Mount Fansipan. Situated in the west of Muong Khuong district (Lao Cai), it originates between two mountains resembling two dragons stretching down, their bodies and tails pressing against the elephant-like mountain range, with their heads raised equally high. This mountain range rises over 1,000m above sea level, hence the water cascading down from the peaks has formed a magnificent waterfall stretching over 500m.

Whether in the early morning or evening, if you visit here, you'll witness the entire area covered in enchanting mist and clouds. Tà Lam Waterfall is the pride of generations of the Muong Khuong ethnic groups. Since the construction of a major road to Nam Chay, Tà Lam waterfall has become a favorite stopover for tourists on Sa Pa – Lao Cai tours.
Na Pao Waterfall
Located 20km northeast of downtown Lao Cai city, Na Pao waterfall is considered a masterpiece bestowed by nature upon Ban Lau commune. In the Nung language, Na Pao means 'long waterfall'. The waterfall is formed by a small stream originating from the mountains. As it flows into Ban Lau commune, the stream encounters an underground water vein from the depths of Suoi Thau mountain, spurting up to create the waterfall as it appears today.

Na Pao Waterfall has a water surface width of only about 20m. From a distance, Na Pao waterfall resembles white silk strips gently undulating on the rocky slope, delicate yet strangely charming. Visitors to Na Pao waterfall not only enjoy the fresh, cool air but also discover a rich and diverse forest vegetation.
With the development of the Sa Pa tourism industry, Na Pao waterfall will become a favorite destination for tourists in the future.
Cat Cat Waterfall
Located in Cat Cat village – one of the famous tourist attractions in Sa Pa, Cat Cat waterfall (also known as Fairy Falls) is a wonderful stopover for nature-loving tourists. The waterfall originates from the majestic Hoang Lien Son mountain range, traverses through the pristine jungle, then cascades down into Cat Cat valley, merging into the meandering flow of Tien stream pouring down to join the Red River.

From afar, travelers can hear the roaring sound of the waterfall, inadvertently creating a vivid mountain forest melody. Besides, there are two romantic suspension bridges next to the waterfall, always swaying with the footsteps of exploring tourists.
If you ever visit Mount Fansipan, don't miss the opportunity to admire the charming beauty of the waterfalls at the foot of the mountain.
