Dải Yếm Waterfall stands as one of the most captivating destinations when it comes to exploring Mộc Châu, Sơn La. It boasts picturesque landscapes amidst the charming plateau.
Discover the enchanting allure of Dải Yếm Waterfall in Mộc Châu

Mộc Châu tourism is synonymous with dreamy highlands, romantic in every season with blooming flowers like Bauhinia variegata, plum blossoms, buckwheat flowers,… or a tranquil Mộc Châu amidst lush green tea hills. Moreover, visitors to Mộc Châu will be impressed by the Dải Yếm Waterfall, a distinct natural beauty spot bestowed upon this place.

It can be said that Dải Yếm Waterfall is one of the most enticing destinations when discussing Mộc Châu tourism. Dải Yếm Waterfall promises to offer entirely different experiences for travelers on their journey to explore Mộc Châu. Apart from the name Dải Yếm, this waterfall is also known as “Nàng Waterfall” or “Bản Vặt Waterfall”. The waterfall originates from two streams Bó Co Lắm and Bo Ta Cháu, located at the confluence of Vặt stream and Bó Sập stream, belonging to Mường Sang commune.

Legend has it that over 700 years ago, there was a deeply in love couple. But due to war, they were separated. The young man went to war, while the girl waited by the waterfall every day for her lover to return. One stormy day, the water rose, flooding the entire waterfall. The girl was swept away, leaving behind the token of love, a embroidered scarf drifting near the waterfall. The villagers mourned her, so they named the waterfall “Dải Yếm”, which in ancient Thai means “Thread of Love”.

The waterfall, standing over 100m tall, splits into two distinct branches: the upper waterfall spans approximately 4,000 square meters with 9 tiers symbolizing 9 levels of love, while the lower waterfall is smaller (covering an area of around 300 square meters) and consists of 3 tiers. These two clusters of waterfalls are about 200m apart, cascading vigorously day and night, resembling a soft, winding ribbon around the mountainside.

Dải Yếm Waterfall sometimes flows gently, peacefully, but other times it roars fiercely and passionately. If you want to experience the wild, majestic beauty of the waterfall, visit during the rainy season, from around April to September. During this time, the water volume is immense, creating a mesmerizing, enchanting white veil, leaving viewers stunned and fascinated.

If you prefer to witness something more gentle, serene, you can also visit the waterfall during the dry season. At that time, the waterfall becomes gentle and dreamy. The sound of the flowing stream blends harmoniously with the melodious chirping of birds from the deep forest, creating a poetic scene.

Particularly, at the Dải Yếm Waterfall area, there is a love-themed glass bridge measuring 80m in length, over 2m in width, situated more than 22m above the Dải Yếm Waterfall. The bridge spans across two mountain slopes. From the bridge, you can admire the entire magnificent scenery of the Northwest mountainous forest. In the middle of the bridge is a large cluster of hearts, symbolizing a romantic and long-lasting love.

Since the bridge is made of transparent glass material, when standing on the bridge, you will feel like you are floating in mid-air and immersed in a mixture of excitement and anticipation. Additionally, the bridge features over 50 different effects, such as: glass cracking effect, blooming flowers, lighting effects, swimming fish, falling petals,... These effects continuously change on the glass surface, providing visitors with a variety of interesting emotional experiences.

Not only a sightseeing spot, at Dải Yếm Waterfall, you can also participate in various entertainment activities such as kayaking, cycling on the stream, ziplining, or shopping for indigenous items as souvenirs.
