During my recent trip, I stayed at Sala Tuy Hoa Beach Hotel based on some reviews I read, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. My family and I had an enjoyable 3-day, 2-night stay here. The hotel boasts modern and luxurious spaces, just 50 meters from the beach, offering breathtaking views of Tuy Hoa sea. For those who want to witness magnificent sunrises and sunsets over the sea from their rooms, remember to book a sea-facing room. Alternatively, you can enjoy these views while strolling along the beach, which was a truly delightful experience for me.

Phu Yen 3D2N Tour Itinerary
To ensure you don't miss any famous attractions in Phu Yen, you need a specific travel itinerary. During my 3-day, 2-night journey in Phu Yen, I explored three directions: the city center of Tuy Hoa, the southern part of the city, and the northern part of the city. Let's dive into the details below.
Day 1: Tuy Hoa City Center
As our flight landed at Tuy Hoa Airport around noon, we headed into the city for lunch before checking into the hotel, dropping off our luggage, and embarking on our Phu Yen exploration.
- Nhan Tower: Located atop Nhan Mountain, the tower bears witness to the glorious history of the Champa people. From its vantage point, you can admire the panoramic view of Tuy Hoa city.
- Nhan Mountain Memorial: This structure was built to honor the heroic martyrs who sacrificed in the land of Phu Yen during the national liberation struggle. The memorial house is designed in the shape of a flock of swallows flying towards the sea, with 42 pillars inscribed with the names of over 14,000 martyrs.
Afterward, we returned to the hotel and headed to Tuy Hoa Beach for some leisure time before dinner and rest.
In the evening, if you're not too tired, you can explore the Tuy Hoa night market in Ward 7, about 2 km from the hotel. A taxi ride takes only 5-10 minutes to get there.
Day 2: Exploring the Southern Part of the City
After having breakfast at the hotel, we set off to explore the southern part of the city, which boasts many prominent attractions:
- Dai Lanh Lighthouse (also known as Dai Lanh Cape): Admission fee is 20,000 VND per adult per visit. You can walk about 20 minutes up the stairs to reach the lighthouse at the highest point of Dai Lanh Cape. Don't forget to take some fantastic photos for check-in moments here!
- Mon Beach: Located right below the lighthouse, Mon Beach is a beautiful spot with white sand, blue sea, and gentle waves. You can swim or admire the scenery here.

Mon Beach
- No Number Train Historical Site: Located a few kilometers from Dai Lanh Cape on the way to Vung Ro Bay, this site holds spiritual significance and is associated with the glorious history of the nation. During the resistance war, this historical site was a secret location for receiving weapons and support from the North to the battlefields of Central and Central Highlands Vietnam.
- Vung Ro Bay: This year-round azure bay lies beneath the Cai Pass. Here, you can enjoy delicious fresh seafood from the fishing boats of local fishermen. The price for a canoe to the boats is around 800,000 VND for a group of 6 people.
At the end of the second day of sightseeing, we returned to the hotel, stopping by a restaurant for dinner on the way back.
Day 3: Exploring the Northern Part of the City
- Mang Lang Church: One of the oldest churches in Vietnam, dating back 120 years. The church is entirely painted gray, adorned with intricate Gothic architectural motifs. It also houses the first printed book in Vietnamese using the Latin script, the 'Eight-Day Sermon' by Father Dac Lo.
- Da Dia Reef: A masterpiece created by natural geological phenomena, the formation resembles stacked plates in a pottery kiln, hence its name Da Dia Reef. Take a stroll down the layers of rock and capture some truly authentic photos. Admission fee is 20,000 VND per person.
- Ong Reef - Xep Beach: Experience an unforgettable feeling sitting on the lush green grass with clusters of cacti at Ong Reef, admiring the azure sea of Xep Beach with its pristine white sandy shores. It truly feels like a scene from a movie. Admission fee for this landmark is 20,000 VND per person.
- O Loan Lagoon: On the way back, we stopped by O Loan Lagoon to enjoy the famous blood cockles of Phu Yen province.
Delicacies of Phu Yen
Based on my travel experience, you should try these famous dishes if you ever visit Phu Yen:
- Ocean tuna eyeballs: Ocean tuna eyeballs are cleaned and stewed in a small pot with traditional Chinese medicines such as dried seaweed, goji berries, etc., along with some vegetables, creating a nutritious dish with a delightful sweet and savory taste that captivates many tourists.
Recommended restaurant address: Mrs. Tam's Restaurant, 289 Le Duan, Tuy Hoa City.
- Phu Yen chicken rice: Still the same soft and sticky rice cooked with boiled chicken broth, with a touch of ground turmeric to give it a golden color. It's served with shredded or whole chicken thigh, but it's the special broth and dipping sauce that make it a dish full of the traditional flavors of Phu Yen.
Recommended restaurant address: Snow Deer Chicken Rice, 189 Le Thanh Ton, Ward 3, Tuy Hoa City.

- Squid vermicelli: Utilizing the delicious fresh seafood from the sea, Phu Yen squid vermicelli has a distinctive flavor when using small squid, cooked sour with pineapple and tomatoes, served with bean sprouts and raw vegetables.
Recommended restaurant address: Hoang Linh Restaurant, 166 Hung Vuong, Tuy Hoa City.
- Seafood pancakes: The crispy, golden pancake, filled with shrimp, squid, meat, and more, served with dipping sauce, is enough to stimulate the taste buds of any traveler. Once you try it, you'll never forget it.
Recommended restaurant address: 303 Le Duan, Tuy Hoa City.
- Herring noodle soup: Comprising ingredients such as fish balls, meat, quail eggs, and herring noodles. The herring noodles are made from rice flour, thicker than vermicelli but soft and chewy when eaten, with broth made from small fish so it's not greasy but rather sweet and flavorful. It's called 'light' herring noodle soup because when eaten, people cover it with finely chopped chives in the bowl.
Recommended restaurant address: Corner of Tran Hung Dao Street (next to Tuy Hoa Market).
Ask the locals to find the right delicious eating spot.
This article will be very useful for those who want to have a free and flexible trip, managing their own itinerary. To save time booking services, you can book a Phu Yen travel package that includes round-trip airfare and hotel. For first-time visitors to Phu Yen who are not confident in their independent travel abilities, it's best to book an all-inclusive Phu Yen tour to have a trip prepared from A to Z.
Wishing you all a joyful journey!
Best regards, Thanh Ha
